Mr Bush
While there's no denying Paul McGann's indubitable charms, (I watched The Monocled Mutineer at an impressionable age and never quite recovered...) there's also something to be said for Robert Beatty's portrayal of Mr Bush. Indeed I know there are some who feel that in many ways Beatty was better suited to the part as described in the books. So as a tribute to Robert Beatty, here are some rather splendid pics of the steadfast Mr Bush from the 1951 film Captain Horatio Hornblower starring Gregory Peck.
