Beautiful. Archie's sorrow, compassion and suppressed rage really shine through. Just as they do in our lovely eglantine_br's latest fic. The tygers of wrath indeed.
Yes - Archie is having mixed reactions although in the context he is in a good place - admiring the outline of Horatio by moonlight - but the tiger has stirred up a rush of love , pity and anger combined.there is a splendid greek word used in the gospel of MArk splagchnizomai which means to be moved by love and anger deeply - a visceral feeling . the English often says" moved by compassion" which does not cut it really. i had that word in mind when Archie was at work on this sonnet .

I don't know how you do it. To boil the essence down to 14 lines-- it is a whole other skill I think.
