The blunderbuss--the one from Run Aground, anyway--is actually real. I saw it in an auction catalog, loved the inscription, and knew that I had to incorporate it into a story somewhere. Imagine my surprise, when refreshing my memory of Flying Colours in preparation for writing Run Aground, I discovered exactly why and how to use it.
Thank you very much! For drawing this pic I looked for the image of blunderbuss. And before I got it on internet I had thought it's a bigger (longer) weapon like rifles... ! I don't know how many wrong images I have still ... X(
I'm relieved to know you liked it, thank you! As you know I love the scenes of Bush & Styles in your story and the episode of blunderbuss was especially impressive. I have hoped that more skillful artist would make the illustration... but they seem to be busy and have no time for it, so I tried to draw it by myself. (I hope our dear black_hound would read this comment ;)
