The little man knelt at his feet.
He was an older man, with deft hands, and years of skill. The man's voice was carefully refined, but just a little muffled by his position. He had a bald spot.
Horatio could feel the man's hands on him. It had to be this way, of course. He had forgotten, in his excitement.
Horatio stood easy, thinking of quarterdecks. His head was swimming.. He wanted to look. He resisted looking.
The older man looked up. He rested his hands on his knees.
“ All done. I think the pinchbeck looks just fine, Sir.”
