I feel as if we, and Horatio, got to know her a little better this time. In some ways she is much more grown up than he is, i think.

Thanks a lot for the kind words; I'm glad that her personality is coming through. As much as I like her in "Treasure Planet", a lot of her personality is left blank. I'm trying to fill in the gaps in a realistic way.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think she's more grown up? I'm trying to write her as someone who's accepted her situation (even if it bothers her more than she cares to admit), and I'd like to know what I'm doing right or wrong.

I don't know. She seems somehow more emotionally balanced than Horatio. She has been through a lot, but found something that works for her.

the story certainly works for me. I can picture it clearly.

That makes sense. If there's one thing that's certain about Drake, it's that she's a bit more relaxed than Horatio.
