It's the Bloody Orlop!

Just to prove that nodbear hasn't entirely taken leave of her senses with her recent fishy fic here is an actual picture of the actual Indefatigable's actual Fish Room! Bet you didn't know they had an ornamental fish pond on the Indy did you?! The Fish Room was actually a general purpose store for spirits and perishable food stuffs which take its name from the fact that these storerooms were originally used for dried and salted fish.

The images below are photographed (very badly with my mobile phone) from a set of original dockyard plans of the Indefatigable. nodbear and I are proud owners of almost a full set of plans which we got from the National Maritime Museum earlier this year. I can't tell you how much we squeed when we got them! They are very impressive but they are also huge which makes them rather hard to photograph. Hopefully you can see some of the detail though, including the Indefatigable's mythical sail locker, two of them in fact! One large one amidships and another smaller one forward on the larboard side beside the boatswains store. Perfect for trysting midshipmen... ;)

We also have profiles of the frigate before and after she was razeed along with plans of the quarterdeck and lowerdeck. I'll try and post some pics of those at a later date.
