Paul McGann, who plays Lieutenant Bush, echoes his co-star’s sentiments. “When they sent me the scripts it appealed to my lazy nature. I thought, ‘Great! My character’s hardly ever in it and we’re going somewhere hot.’ But God, the uniforms and the damn hats are heavy, and we were running about in 95 degrees.
“Also we were working with an all-male cast, including the 100 extras. I guess it depends which way you’re inclined, but being trapped on an island for six weeks with just blokes doesn’t do a lot for me.”
