You pass a complete stranger on the street and notice they are crying. What do you do?

Stop and do my best to help, of course. As a person, that's what's right, and as a public servant, I have the resources to hopefully help with whatever the problem is. Not like I haven't had a few moments of total melting down in my life.

There's no such thing as a 'victimless crime' no matter what anyone says; in fact there are usually more victims than we think about. Like any cop, I've had my fair share of times having to console total strangers, convince them that their lives aren't over, help them deal with their grief, rage, or desperation. It's something they don't often teach in the service academies but any good training officer will impart to you, and to be honest? It's one of the more rewarding parts of my work. Helping with the rebuilding, the healing process. Something positive.

With working on the X-Files, that didn't come up as much as it used to. Mostly, it was me trying to hold my fellow agents together. But whether it's one of them or someone I've never met before, I'd do my best to comfort anyone. After all, I know there are people who would do the same for me.
