90: Butterflies and Hurricanes

[Follows this and this.]It didn't surprise Stark that she had trouble sleeping that night, at least that morning. There was way too much on the calendar that day for her to be too comfortable. An hour before the alarm went off, she was awake, and reluctantly squirmed out of the arms of her sleeping fiancee to get a head start on the day

When she got out of bed he rolled over and looked around, he glanced at the clock and slipped out of bed. He then went and took a shower. He was nervous and worried all at once. He wanted this to be as perfect as it could be. They needed to pick out rings still but they could do that before the ceremony. He had his credit card so he could pay for what he needed.

He came out and looked to her and wrapped his arms around her.

"Morning Honey."

"Hey, sweetheart." She looked distressed, running a hand through her hair. She hadn't even bothered to shower yet. "I just...can't figure out what to wear. How about this one? No, wait, that's not good enough." She bit her lip gently. "God, damnit, I don't know where to start."

"I like that with this black suit." He picked it out and handed it to her and smiled kissing her softly then.

She kissed him gently, hugging him as much for her own reassurance as anything else. She eyed the two and had to admit it wasn't a bad combination. "But are you sure it's formal enough to get married in?" she said, a little intimidated.

"Yes I am sure Stark." He smiled softly and went to his closet and looked through. He took out one of the nicer black suits and laid it out on the bed with a nice crimson colored shirt underneath and laid hers next to his and smiled then. "See we'll look amazing together."

"I'll just trust your judgment. I need to get a shower, I haven't even done that yet." She was clearly starting to freak out just a little as she undressed, folding her bathrobe over one arm and heading for the shower. Then something else hit her. "Oh. Oh, my God. John -- go into that box in the closet -- I need that necklace of my sister's. I can't get married without her."

"Alright Honey. Get your shower and I'll get it for you." He smiled and went and got the necklace out and set it out for her. He set to getting dressed then waiting for her.

She didn't stay long in the shower, not with everything on her mind. No, she toweled off and wandered back into the bedroom. He'd notice the lingerie she was pulling on was more lacy than usual as she grabbed the necklace and put it on.

He watched the lingerie and blinked and stares a moment. Then shook it off buttoning up his shirt.

She didn't realize he was looking, just quietly got dressed, glancing over herself to make sure everything was in place. "Do I look okay?" she asked worriedly. As only a woman can.

"You look absolutely beautiful Stark." He kissed her softly then and smiled.

"Good." She blushed, fixing her makeup and checking her hair before she went through the usual rituals of getting her gun and her badge and everything else. "Coffee should be done downstairs. I guess we just take everything one step at a time?" she suggested, heading that direction. Coffee would help.

"All we can do do Honey. Nervous?" He grabbed his gun and badge and followed her smiling.

"Of course I'm nervous. I'm getting married today and I want it to be perfect. I think I'm supposed to be nervous." She smiled slightly at him as she went to fetch her morning coffee. "Take care of all the paperwork, then I know we still need to get the rings, and meet everyone...oh and did I mention you look wonderful?"

"Good I'm nervous too." He drank his coffee and looked at her. "We'll find Bowman and see what paperwork he needs us to fill out. We'll tackle that first."

"Yeah, because we would never leave another agent with an open case," she replied with a nod. "It can't be that much. He might need statements from the both of us since we were witnesses to the discovery of the body but other than that? I don't know."

She leaned against the counter and looked at him. "Are we doing anything tonight since it's technically our wedding night? Or just packing everything for tomorrow?"
