my internet is down
my internet is down. i spoke with my landlord about it and apparently Verizon is having a problem in our neighborhood. so we're dealing with the outage in the best way we know how. it sucks when i'm expecting to hear news about the job and no emails can come in.
i think my roommate, Lance, is unemployed too. i never mention him because for the longest time he was always gone to his boyfriend's house on the Cape. it was summer and he's long and slender so you know he's a P-town queen. he's kind of an odd duckling because he stays holed up in his bedroom all the time. (but then, so do i.) he's been home all day with my landlord (who is also unemployed) and me all the time. this economic crunch is taking a tole on our whole apartment.
i got a call from Chris, my temp agency recruiter, though. he told me i should know something by "tomorrow morning at the latest". i may be dumbly placing all my eggs in one basket, but i have a good feeling about this dot com company. i spoke with pagancub about it and he cavilerly said, "maybe your last job was just a primer for your real job. and this will lead somewhere." yes, it could've been just something nice to say to ease my worried mind. but it was also a very nice thing to say altogether.
yesterday, Jeremy came over and took me out to eat at Outback Steakhouse. it's kind of a staple in Arkansas so i'd never been. but i enjoyed the food. Jeremy seemed unsure if i would eat it and i assured him that unemployed people eat ANYTHING. i had the Alice Springs Chicken with fries. the fries tasted old, though. but i loved the chicken.
he's going to come over tonight so i can fix his laptop. that is, if i can fix his computer. he's not helpful on the details of what he sees when he starts it up. all i got was something about him updating iTunes and suddenly now not being able to use it. lord knows i won't have the internet to gauge my questions so here's to hoping something comes of it.
