[It's a lovely evening, isn't it? A bit damp, drizzly, maybe, but lovely, nonetheless ( Read more... )

[Fuck this pod shit, she was out looking around when sweet Jesus fuck what is that.

Oh God, we're all gonna die aren't we. She stops just short of the Temple steps and hhhh it won't stooooopppppp oh wait except it totally did.

... Wait. That sounded kind of familiar. Please say that wasn't what she thinks it is.]

Oh hell no... [She's already looking around. Wherever that thing is, she wants to be the other direction.]

[She might hear another whimper and the rustling of bushes as something tries to skitter away...]

AND THEN I WOKE UP superntral_temp January 17 2011, 00:37:16 UTC
[Yeah she hears it and she glances around, but it's a little too dark for her to see something that subtle.]

Forget this. Wait until daylight. [She was turning to go back to that pod but that stupid capybara that wouldn't stop following her finally decided to run out on its own.]

Shit. [Not that she'd wanted the damn thing to begin with, but she did feel responsible for it. And it was running away aaahhh whatever was out there would probably kill the thing. It didn't look like it was getting too far, maybe if she just speed-walked a little she could catch up to it in a minute.]

THE LONGEST OF NAPS also CHRONILOGICALLY THIS HAPPENS AFTER EVERYTHING ELSE HURRR nowlycanthropic January 17 2011, 00:58:57 UTC
[And all Bennett can do is press further and further into the woods in hope of escape. Every new sound makes him jump and he spends the entire night on edge-- he's got to find a building or something to hide in next time, this "running about in the rain for twelve hours" business wasn't really going to be that good for him at all.

But lo! The morning comes.

And with it, comes another transformation. Changing back was always so much worse, the pain medication he'd taken as a human would always wear off beforehand. He just wants to sleep, but first-- howling in agony. Always a good choice. Better than a rooster!]

LMFAO DON'T JUDGE ME superntral_temp January 17 2011, 01:17:07 UTC
[Okay this stupid animal? Keeps getting just out of her reach every time she gets close, now she's determined to get it back. Stupid animal, stupid work. She's still mad about not knowing what she's supposed to be doing here yet either.

Why is this stuff always so difficult.

But hey, the capybara stopped, like it was listening for something. She could almost...]

C'mere, you little-- [She reaches out for it and--] DAMN IT. [It ran away again, back towards the temple and the pods and holy fuck there was howling. And it was really, really close.]

[The howling ceases in a sudden, strangled gurgle before ragged breathing picks up, moans following suit. If she keeps moving forward, Girl might hear the nasty snap of bones every couple of seconds, more cries of pain-- whatever's happening? It's not good. At all.]

What the...

[Yeah, she hears it. Hears it all. To be honest, she'd never been around a werewolf during either transformation, so she wasn't all that sure if that's how it was supposed to sound. But whoever this was sounded like they were almost dying and...

...Shit she got lost. And was ankle deep in mud. FUCK EVERYTHING. But whoever was making all the noise was probably within a good thirty feet of her, so she's glancing around to make sure she doesn't just. Wander in on them.]

Ch-christ...

[Bennett's paws finally finish re-arranging themselves into hands, just as his collarbone and shoulder blades snap backwards, into a more human shape-- he screams, and coughs and sputters into the mud, desperate for air. It's almost done, it's almost there-- just his face, hips and legs from here, right? He's hurting too much to remember the usual order.]

[uh oh COUGHING. SHE'S GETTING CLOSER. She instinctively pulls her jacket about herself a bit more; the damp in the air was bad enough, but being anxious about a possibly wild werewolf was... unnerving. She's fairly certain now that's exactly what she's running into because she could make out the shadows now.

Uh. You know what, she's just going to hang out back here behind this bush while you finish, Bennett. People in pain aren't really her thing.]

[There is another violent series of snaps as Bennett's hips break and shift into their new shape while his knees snap forward. He lands with a smack into the mud, unable to support his own weight, muttering something under his breath the whole time to keep from screaming again.]

it hurts it hurts it hurts--

[His voice dies with another loud CRACK as his face finishes rearranging itself--

And then, silence, save for Bennett's heavy breathing and the sound of rain in the trees.]

...

[Well. It stopped. That's a plus, right? She was honestly trying not to get sick from the sounds of the bones snapping, but thankfully it was over before she lost her stomach.

And then whoever it was is just laying there. She looks around for anyone else; he obviously doesn't have any help out here.

...Fuck.]

Hey- You-- ... You're not dead, right?

Nnnnope. Still-- still, uh-- not dead.

OH jeez--

[She nearly loses her footing SHE WASN'T ACTUALLY EXPECTING AN ANSWER, she backs up against the tree she was next to before looking over again.

Wait.

Oh. It's The Tool. Should've guessed, just her luck.]

That's. Good. I guess.

[This couldn't have ended any worse. Short of actual death-- last month, there was death, and that sucked, and it sucks thinking about it, so he needs to NOT think about the taste of blood-- but someone found him out, and that was bad.

And yet, considering he couldn't get up, he also couldn't be bothered to completely care.]

Yep. Hasn't, k-k-killed me y-yet.

[Oh. Oh, this is a different stammer than usual. He's shivering, mud is cold.

Nope, this sucks more than he previously believed.]

Guess you probably want a hand or something.

[Yeah, guess who's not jumping up to help. This giiiirl. Though she hasn't left yet. You may get some form of help from her yet if you're polite enough.]

I-I mean, y-you d-d-d-don't have to. Don't-- I'll-- I'll, b-b-be fine, I've-- th-this isn't anything n-new.

[Jesus, it's cold down here in the mud. He struggles to get up to his elbows at least, but-- no dice. He draws another ragged breath.]

Th-thanks for-- thanks for th-the offer.
