Giles has been patrolling the village ever since sunrise for the sole purpose of keeping the beasts away from his family. Away from Helios. He had no idea that his brother had already left the apartment, gone off on his own with that dream still stewing in his mind.
He'd wanted him to be safe, he didn't want...
Judging by the sounds he's just heard, Helios is on the edge if he hasn't already gone over.
This is very bad, and Giles can't keep the quiet panic out of his voice.]
The woods. [ Being so very vague on purpose here. ] I rather keep to my thoughts for a little while longer. I enjoy the freedom every once in awhile--but you wouldn't know anything about that; having it all the time after all. [ A pause. ]
Besides if I told you, you'd just bring me to Paprika.
[The woods, then. Giles has been pacing near the edge of the woods all day by now. But he's well aware that that isn't exactly helpful. Even so, he switches his attention from searching for beasts to searching for Helios, walking quickly now.]
You said it yourself. Paprika is very busy right now.
[Not a yes or a no. Two can play the vagueness game, Helios.
..."having it all the time"...does that mean he's already changed? Giles has to be sure.]
I only suggested as much last night because you seemed as though you needed it.
It's rather dead, it won't be bothering anyone anymore. There's still so many running around though. [ He would never have killed something in his usual demeanor. ] Not nearly enough time... [ His mumbled statement isn't directed at anyone in general, but Giles' next statement gets his attention. ]
I don't need your footage. A bit too late for that. In person is always more helpful. [ A few bitter retorts. Helpful...like you ever are, Giles. You can try to take him in, he's going to put up a fight...it's been a long time since he's been out after all. ]
We could do this in person if you'd just tell me where you are, for God's sake.
[His voice is edged with frustration, now. Helpless, bitter, angry frustration. But he's still looking. And he will fight. He'll go easy, he'll probably get hurt, but he will fight.]
You don't need to kill them all. You don't need to be here at all.
And have you get rid of me again? Haha no you can come find me yourself. I did say I was in the woods, didn't I? You seem to have the knowledge brother, you can find me.
Don't tell me what I need and don't need to do. [ It's said in a harsh whisper. ] Don't forget you're the reason I exist at all. Stupid byproduct of your helplessness. I'll kill as many as I have to.
[ Because they frighten him and remind him of how easy it was to be cornered and put into a position where you can't exactly control the outcomes to. ]
[And then that is the sound of Giles' journal being hurled violently against the nearest tree. The connection is forcibly broken. But he'll still be listening in later, checking on his brother in case this Helios takes it into his head to hurt someone.
...okay, he hates having to do this. But desperate times call for desperate measures. And, in this case, a quick trip to the item shop for the necessary materials.
It takes him far too long to set up the locator spell on some clear ground behind the shop, away from the prying eyes of villagers and beasts. Even so, eventually, a small point of green light goes spinning up into the air to hover before his eyes. Giles quickly and quietly gives it his instructions - it obeys by zooming off towards the trees again. He hurries after it.]
[ That spell will go deep into the forest past the downed beast in the forest nearest to CH7. It might find Helios hovering over another dead body, but better he take his anger out one these things than people right?
It gives this side of him some small satisfaction at least. If Giles catches up with his brother there will be blood dripping from his left arm where the most recent beast caught his arm with its claws. ]
[Giles is barely a few seconds behind the flickering green light. That means Helios will have a few seconds warning that he's coming, but it also means that Giles will catch up with his brother.
He stops, bracing one arm against a tree and joining Helios in surveying the dead monster. He's not surprised. He's not...entirely surprised when he looks over at Helios properly and sees the blood staining the grass. But even so, a strange expression flickers over Giles' face at the sight. He looks almost sick, pained, sad. Guilty.
Which is stupid. Some of the spells Helios uses even in his normal state require blood. Giles knows this, although he's never liked it. Which is why the first words out of his mouth are this.]
...I hope that was this thing's doing. [Referring very obviously to the blood. He seems...almost horrifically transfixed by the sight of Helios' blood.]
[ He catches that light knowing exactly what it means. An audible annoyed sigh and a slight shrug of his shoulders as he hears Giles' question. Helios will turn looking at the other with a slightly twisted smile. He enjoys seeing Giles with those expressions...at least this side of him does. ] It proved to be rather formidable not nearly enough.
[ He doesn't pay his arm any heed though as he fully turns towards Giles. His right hand goes to his temple, rubbing it as he glares at Giles. ] So now what, are you going to tie me up and take me to our sister? So I can talk about my problems and everyone can go back to being blissfully unaware and happy?

...are you all right, then? [Go on. Lie to him.]

[ Just a laugh but it sounds very wrong and not like him at all. ] Perfectly all right now that it's gone.

Giles winces at the sound of that laugh, stopping dead in his tracks for a second as his heart skips several beats.
He was afraid of this.]
Good. I'm glad it wasn't too...bothersome. Not that most things are to you. [Not when you're like this.]
I've been t-taking footage of these things all day. D-Do you want to see any of it?
[He's babbling, and he's walking. And he is taking you in to see Paprika if he has to drag you, evil alter.]

[Stop it, Giles. Don't play on his terms. Don't encourage him.]
...I've never forgotten. I never will. And if that makes it my responsibility to put you away every time you show yourself...so be it.
You won't go far.

I look forward to seeing you in person then.
