Body and Appearance

1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Helios is pretty average when it comes to height. He’s 5’9” and 135 pounds also he’s a bit built since he does have to keep in shape dealing with mythical creatures. But he's not like a body builder or anything like that.

2. How old is he?
33 (34 on December 15th)

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
This is a tricky one. While in the presence of his friends he definitely carries himself in a more relaxed slouched manner, though it’s not very noticeable like scoliosis or anything. However in the midst of esteemed guests or the parents of his students Helios definitely changes his posture to a more straight and refined appearance.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
He’s definitely fit for his age and not too out of shape. He’s not marathon runner or body builder, so there’s probably room for improvement in either category. His body, while his blood is still warm, the outer touch of his skin is actually ice cold. His skin feels very much like a corpse though that’s due to soul being tainted with darkness from his encounter with Apep.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Helios is a complete derp and is therefore very clumsy. Although when he fights, which is rare, he is quite graceful and fluid in his movements. He becomes completely tense when around his brother, Nero.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
He’s pretty darn attractive but he definitely doesn’t perceive himself as anything special. Obviously if you hit on him he’ll laugh nervously and inwardly flail like the giant derp he is, and probably go awkward turtle on you…because he’s Helios.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Light. His arms have several long, knife induced, scars.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
His hair is dirty blonde, soft texture idk? And it’s short.

9. What color are his eyes?
Green. They also glow brightly when he casts spells.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Uh not really.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
Oh god definitely his shoulders and general arm area.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Helios has a very bad wardrobe. He’s casual dress, definitely. Usually he'll only get dressy when he meets with students and their parents, or at the parties he hosts at the school. He wears mostly neutral colors too.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Yes they actually fit rather well, however some of them are a bit baggy on him it’s just what he prefers. Oh yeah he’s totally comfortable in them, why wear something he’s not comfortable in?

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
Yeah he dresses pretty much the same for both. Even though his style for a headmaster is pretty damn bad. He wears sweaters and stuff instead of suits.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Briefs.

Speech

1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
He has a deep but soft voice? I can’t describe it but I hear it in my head so clearly, man!

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
He has a medium tone and he talks easily. Around Nero is it hesitate and timid though, he stutters a lot around his brother.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
He has a slight Romanian accent and dialect but spending a lot of time in America has added an Americanized accent to his speech. He speaks his hometown’s dialect (Hunedoara County) very well.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
Helios can speak a number of languages. Romanian (obviously), English, Latin, some French, some Japanese and Chinese and that’s about it. Typically he tried to learn the languages in the countries with the highest amount of mythological creatures as they naturally asked for his assistance in getting their children into his school. Though he’s not very proficient in them, normally he’d have a guide when visiting his students in countries whose dialect he cannot speak fluently, he does try (poorly) to speak other languages.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
If it calls for it he definitely will try. But for the most part? No. Since everyone in his school mainly speaks English.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
He does think about them, yes, but he is usually impromptu and casual as well.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
I’d like to say he’s very articulate and the only circumstances this would ever change is when he’s in a very bad situation. Where he might drop a curse word, but apologize for it even if it’s towards an enemy. Because he fails like that.

Mental and Emotional

1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Very intelligent. Helios is book smart like you wouldn’t believe but he also has mythological creatures with thousands of years of knowledge teaching him. So it’s not just books but the people he meets and talks to.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
He tends to deliberate, a lot. When in a dire situation ie: Castle being invaded by rouge band of demons, or Mirror World incident. He definitely did not have the time and therefore was made to think on his feet.
Usually though he conducts a lot of illegal experiments like the mirage ring which took several months to develop and get right.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Helios is a bit of everything. He is logical and yet intuitive, practical and yet idealistic. His dream of making his own world a better place for both myths and humans while idealistic he knows logically that it will take lots of time.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
He has gone through college so quite a decent education.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Originally Helios was getting his bachelor’s in Psychology but once he got that he returned to Romania and decided to reopen the castle to the general public. He turned his interests to mythology and folklore. That is now his current field of study, a folklorist if you would.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
He’s definitely an extrovert. Despite being a complete bookworm he has very good social skills.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
He’s pretty even tempered. Sad when he thinks about sad thing, happy when he’s, well, happy. He does have a more somber and melancholy side though due to his past.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Enthusiastic…a bit too enthusiastic. Just look at his intro post.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
React.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Flight.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Oh god Helios makes the worst puns and jokes of all time. He’s kinda stupid that way.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
He does have a few phobias though most of them are under control thanks to Elise’s lasting effects on him. However they fully resurface when in the presence of his brother or when those things that were traumatic present themselves to him. I categorize him as having Aichmophobia (fear of sharp or pointed objects) and Nyctophobia (fear of darkness usually coupled with dark rooms)

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
His fiancee’s death. The torture his brother put him through. His time spent traveling the world learning of mythologies and their pleas. The reopening of Sprensonne Academy.

14. What does he fear?
He fears that all he’s done will be for nothing. That Elise’s death was for nothing and his and her’s dream is nothing more than just that. Losing those close to him again.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
Helios hopes and aspires to bridge the gap between humans and mythological creatures in his world. He hopes to make the world less afraid and more accepting of mythica so that people do not look first towards the outside, but the time spent and shared with them. His saying is definitely 'don’t judge a book by its cover.'

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
The fact that he killed his fiancee? Yeah that’s definitely not something he wants people finding out.

Relationships

1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
Helios had a very good relationship with his parents, they were kind, understanding and yet they left him with a slight loneliness. When they were traveling the world looking for more applicants for the academy it was at this time that Nero tortured him. Helios however never told his parents because he never wanted to bother them with his problems.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
One sibling an older brother named Nero Máni Sprensonne (34) he was born March 23rd. Their relationship is a bit…skewed. God it’s messed up like whoa. Basically Helios overshadowed Nero most of his life, Nero always felt that way even if his parents never actually exhibited these feelings. Still once they left the school in a family friend’s hand Nero was very aggressive to Helios. But Helios too pure of heart would never fight back, and never tell on the other because he believed family to be the most important thing in existence. He shut himself in and never spoke of the scars or pain Nero caused him. But still to this day Helios cowers in fear of his brother if, and when, he should ever visit the academy.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
No the Sprensonne bloodline is pretty much exhausted. Nero and Helios are the only two representatives of it.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Mostly everyone in the academy despite them being mythica. Helios has no qualms about accepting them into his life though and they’ve almost become something of extended family to him.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Varron definitely. They were room mates in college and since then the other has been keeping touch with Helios. Varron also saved the others life when he stopped Helios from committing suicide after Elise’s death.

6. Does he have other close friends?
Ra, it’s a messed up relationship but the two are quite close…despite the pain involved.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
He makes friends easily enough, it’s kinda hard to hate him I mean come on. He’s a derp you can’t hate a derp.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
Family definitely.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Widowed. Due to the terms in this universe Helios can never marry someone or express love to anyone for that matter. True Lights are people’s soul mates so you’re basically predestined to meet them eventually. However you can have relationships with other people but once you find your True Light it’s basically a dead end. Should your True Light pass away, usually this happened in succession so Helios's case is something of an anomaly really, it’s like losing half of your soul and your power. So this is the reason why Helios’s soul is tainted, Elise was possessed by an evil god and that possession, or the aftermath of it, transferred over to Helios's soul with her death. Also Helios is only half as powerful as he once was with Elise.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
NO.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
It was actually a girl in highschool named Christina Nash but it didn’t last long. His latest…no one.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Hm well I don't know. Someone loving, caring, open minded like himself.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
These questions are depressing. But Helios wanted children, so very very badly. It was something him and Elise agreed to and wanted like nothing else. Unfortunately that’ll never happen.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
Rogue demons and beings of power that want to absorb the magic infused in the castle. The only way to do that is to kill Helios or at least take his soul, so yeah, enemies he has them. But they are few and far between because this man has connections and you really don’t want to harm him.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
Before Elise’s death: 0 Heterosexual
After to current: X Asexual

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
Sex really wasn’t too important to him, but I’m not going to lie and say him and Elise abstained from it. Soul mates people that is intense love right there, if you found the one person you were meant to be with you’d have sex too.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?

I can't think for this question oh man. Helios was probably more romantic than kinky or anything. Kissing, cuddling, touching too. He doesn't have any fetishes either, okay? Not that I can think of.

Beliefs

1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
Sagittarius for Western and Earth Horse for Chinese. He doesn’t really fit either of these too well at all. Derp.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
He is neither because of his work; Helios doesn’t believe in a set god or have a set religion. He accepts them all, as he does talk to the gods of them.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
He definitely has a strong sense of keeping the peace. When push comes to shove Helios will always try to settle things with words before fighting. He dislikes violence and typically people who enjoy it or show little concern for the aftermath of it rub him the wrong way. He, however, does like to see both sides of the argument given his background and goals. Trying to forge the bridge between humans and mythica is what gave him his ethics. If a person is blatantly trying to harm others or hurt those close to him, this includes Nero yes you read right, Helios will do anything in his power to stop them. That is the only compromise, also if the world is about to be destroyed because yes that is very serious.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Helios in general is a very tolerant man so a person’s religion is not a major concern when it comes to regarding them. Typically he'll be curious to any new religion which presents itself.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
He doesn’t really have prejudices, open-minded he is it.

Daily Life

1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Helios is disgustingly rich comfortable. The Academy is kind of expensive though its main demography is middle classed families. The mythica actually donate though, because they’re all pretty filthy rich living for thousands of years and all, so that’s the main source of income for the school.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
Poor. Sprensonne family was one of the higher regarded magical families, since Sprensonne is one of the oldest living bloodlines. This automatically gave him and Nero counsel status.
The magic counsel is the main ruling bodies of the magical world on Earth, they run, oversee, and determine which families are pure enough to obtain grants, protection and finances from the counsel itself. The ruling body of the magic Counsel is a group of 12 men and women, so 24 all together, which determine the merit of any magical family. Helios was to be inducted into the counsel at the age of 29, one of the earliest and youngest members in history.

This all changed in September with the death of Elise and them finally figuring out that Helios was conducting black magic, something which is punishable by death, but the death of a true light was a fitting punishment to them. Actually killing of one’s true light was also punishable by death but they saw no need, in fact it was Nero who talked them out of it. He probably only did it to see Helios suffer and the counsel mostly agreed. Nice aren’t they? Pretty much that incident sullied Helios’s name for the rest of his life; the counsel disapproved of Helios’s general idea to try and bridge the gap between them and mythical creatures thinking to was stupid. Now so even more they have cut all ties with him simply because of his mistake, though Helios finds it a rather welcomed action in all honesty.

Tl;dr the magic counsel hates Helios and he isn’t fond of them and he’s basically been excommunicated by the magic community as a whole. This fact is also the reason why not many of his students are magicians and an entirely separate schooling system has been made for them.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
Helios lives in his castle in Hunedoara County. He shares it with his students and faculty? It is a boarding school after all.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Most of it goes to the school, renovations on the castle and such.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
He is a headmaster to a school for both humans and mythological creatures. He is very good at it and no he would not like to do anything else. His job rocks, okay? Why would you ever give that up?

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Interests would be reading, writing, and traveling. A lot of his free time is devoted to making new spells and refining old ones. He’s something of a mad…wizard in that regard.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, and avoid certain foods?
Sweets he needs them. He has good eating habits though generally he might miss a meal or two if he gets too engrossed in his work, but who doesn’t?
