Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven…oh there’s no more sugar left. Hmm I’ll have to pick some up later.

[ The transmission is silent, for some time, but it’s most likely because Helios doesn’t notice it’s on. The sounds of pages turning in a book are the only source of noise to be recognized. He'll give a long sigh. ] Mushi seem to have disappeared ( Read more... )

interesting thoughts, he's a derp, everything tastes better with sugar, curious, babbling

[She remembers that voice! So she replies :D]

I was born with mine, the only one in my entire family to have magic of any kind. It's not possible to gain it where I'm from.

[ And he remembers yours as well! Just give him a second to place a name. ]

Hermione, was it? Forgive me this old mind is hard with remembering! [ A pause. ] Ah how did that fire spell work out for you, dear?

The only one in your family? Interesting, usually most are fully magical families in my case. Though I suppose it does depend on who you end up with!

[That's fine. She's patient!]

That's all right. I'm Hermione, yes. It worked better after you'd given me instruction, but it's still got a few things to work out before it'll be perfect. I ought to thank you again for your help.

Yes. Magic can skip around where I'm from. Some wizards are born into completely non-magical families, like I was, and some wizarding families with magic in every person in their tree can have a non-magical child. It's really interesting.

[ Oh that's good then because he's slow sometimes /shot ]

Oh it's no trouble at all! I actually found it quite refreshing teaching someone. It does make me miss the castle a bit though.

Hm that is certainly something. Perhaps it's something in the genes, I've never really taken the time to fully look into the matter though.

[ffffff Good thing indeed!]

Maybe you ought to think about teaching people here, too. It was very informative for me.

I don't know. I never really had a reason to look into it because it seems to be so unnecessary. I don't know if it's possible to prove or disprove.

Hmm well, I was thinking about it. I'd love to have some students.

No harm in not knowing. Though it does make one wonder.

It could be fun. I tutor occasionally and it can be very rewarding.

I suppose so. [She sounds curious, though.]

You tutor? How wonderful! I think with the amount of people willing to learn here it can turn into a wonderful endeavor indeed! Perhaps I could even find myself some assistants. [ He laughs a little. ]

I thought it a good way to use my spare time. Otherwise I was sitting around in the library reading, which isn't a bad endeavor by itself, but tutoring gives my library visits new purpose.

And you seem to have thought right! It also helps keep one's mind fresh, you know? And it's a nice thing to do, helping others.

Exactly. It's what I'd do at home, so why shouldn't I keep it up here? The material may be different, but it's still the same principle.

True and besides everyone here probably can benefit from it. Also it's always nice teaching people about new and exciting things.

Exactly. I ought to see if anyone else would like tutoring time. It's been a while since I had a chance. And perhaps I'll have the fire magic sorted out when we see each other again.

I look forward to our next meeting then! Perhaps I can give you a few more pointers, ah, if you'd like that is!

Ah such willingness to learn! If only some of my own students expressed such sheer enthusiasm. It's hard to come by in some youth nowadays.
