ϡ - Chapter Thirty; Winter Wonderland antics [Voice|Action]

Dec 12, 2011 03:53

[ Good morning Luceti if you’re in town today, and probably in the surrounding areas as well, you’ll notice some large lumbering pure white figures walking about some might even be flying. No, no, they aren’t harmful in the least, although the creatures they take after might argue otherwise, and they are not yetis or other such things that come out ( Read more... )

[Ginia is outside their new house, throwing a tennis ball around for Odin. She's completely unaware of the snowy mythical creatures about, but Odin certainly notices. When a snowy kitsune comes in the area, Odin drops the ball and growls quietly, putting himself between Ginia and the living snow sculpture.]

Odin? What's wrong? I-is someone there?

[ These snow creatures! Helios will be in the area just in time to catch it the happenings. He'll be over there in a second, don't worry. ] Ah! It's n-nothing! Just, just a kitsune. Well! Not, not a real one you know. I just made one out of snow and-and I suppose Odin didn't take very well to it.

[ The kitsune however will dart back towards Helios running in circles around his legs. Odin had protected you well Ginia from the fearsome snow!kitsune! ] Odin is quite the good protector though.

[She turns when she hears Helios' voice, letting everything process in her mind.]

...Please tell me you can make more once my vision is back.

[ Kitsune successfully retreating Helios will give Odin a pat on the head and some behind the ear scratches. Good dog so very brave standing up to the kitsune like that. ] Of course! They're easy to make...if-if you know what I mean.

[ Probably not to everyone. ] The weather has been quite generous in terms of snow. I doubt we'll be running out any time soon.

[Odin gives the fleeing kitsune a final glare with his eye before accepting his pets. Yes, he's a very good, excellent guard dog, doncha know.]

A bit of magic, of course. What else have you made?

I agree. Looks like we'll get a proper white Christmas this year. I bet everything looks beautiful.

[ All the dog treats for him when they go back inside. ] A dragon, some griffins, unicorns. Ah, I've just been making a few here and there.

[ Helios has been rather busy since this morning. ] I'm sure you'll be able to take in the sights in no time. [ A frown. It is a shame that the effects haven't started to wear off yet. And yet having Ginia lose her voice...it's hard to say if it's fair or not to think like that. ]

[Ginia laughs quietly, a small hint of sadness. While she's taken to enjoying the voice while it lasts and she's become more mobile and roaming out a bit further with careful guidance and practice, she still misses seeing. Hearing everyone talk about the Christmas lights, it makes her a little sad missing out.]

They sound wonderful, Helios. I'm sure everyone's enjoying the sight. And I admit this is lasting longer than I thought it would. Though... I can at least talk?

I do hope so. I tend to get into this holiday more than some people. I guess that's what happens when you've actually met Santa Claus. [ He is serious about this. ] But, ah, you can't not get into the Christmas spirit, hm? The music the smells and just the overall atmosphere of things, makes it very hard to resist...not that that's a bad thing.

[ Along with Malnosso intervention? Yeah, no, not a bad thing at all it's making for a wonderful airy feeling on pleasantness for Helios at least. But still some of the cheeriness will dissipate as Helios looks back at her. It's hard when you can't help someone you're close to. ]

You've probably been asked this a lot but...which do you prefer?

[She shouldn't be surprised. With all the worlds and variations on them, why wouldn't Santa exist? But. But.]

You've met Santa?

[As for the other question, Ginia sighs a bit. Yes, she's been asked it several times, but it's a legimiate question.]

I'd rather be able to see.

I have. He's, um, stopped by a few times at the castle. F-For early drop present drop offs. [ There is a hint of amusement in his voice. ] And some coal I'm afraid.

[ Helios is silent for a moment. Being blind is probably the worse of two evils but hopefully he'll be able to help give Ginia both without the added affects. ] Understandably. You have gone without speaking your entire life s-so I suppose it's only, only natural that you're accustomed to not doing so...

[ Soon that won't be the case, he hopes. ] Still ah, would you like to take a walk maybe? I was just finishing up and then heading off into town. [ To make more snowmen. ]

Wow. You have to tell me more about him.

[His words are true. There's comfort in the familiar and she's always been much more of a visual person. Hearing and sensing the world but not being able to see it is a scary sort of thing to her.] Pretty much. I'll... well, I guess I will miss speaking, but I've lived without it long enough. I'll be okay.

A walk sounds nice.

What would you like to know? He's a rather cheerful fellow I can tell you that. And his sweet tooth rivals even mine.

[ Helios can't help but laugh at that. ] It doesn't seem fair in all honesty. Giving you something you've never had and then just...just- [ taking it away. A sigh. ]

But yes let's! It's a nice day out at least. And of course Odin can come along too. [ He gives the dog a smirk. ] He can protect us if there's anymore mythologies about.

Well, I guess what parts of the usual lore are true and what are fabrications?

No, it isn't, but what's to be done? I'll live, Helios, really.

[Odin wags his tail and gives a sharp bark, approving of this idea.] Yes, it does seem like a nice day. Let's be off then. How many mythologies did you make?

[Action] folkloristic December 13 2011, 01:26:33 UTC
[ A finger goes to his chin as he thinks. ] Hm. Well I can safely say that most lore is rather spot on about him. Except the chimney business. He usually just...appears rather than go down a chimney.

[ And off they shall be! Helios will laugh at Odin and then offer Ginia his arm very, very awkwardly. He is still not used to do this okay? But like heck if he's going to just let her...walk around blind, even with Odin to assist. ] I-If you need help I-I can um, w-walk with you. As for mythologies...I've...made a few. [ A lot. ]

We're talking magic, right? Flying around the world, visiting all the kids, all that stuff, magic?

[Ginia takes his arm and holds it in a light gloved grip. It's a cold day, good for bundling up.]

It'd be quite appreciated. Back at the community building, I had the layout figured out and the area, but I'm having to readjust now that we've moved. I like all the space though.

[A small chuckle.] A few. Of course. What else did you make?

More or less, yes. Magic for mythica are a bit higher in power than what humans are capable of. Which is why humans have to translate it and use it in a form more...suitable for us. And even then mythica derived spells are still far more powerful than ones humans have created for themselves.

[ Helios shifts stiffening initially at the closeness. And Helios is so not the person to bundle up with he's probably just as cold, if not colder, than the air outside. ] Ah y-yes that must be quite an adjustment actually. All the space as opposed to the lack thereof in the apartment.

It's funny...I've lived in that apartment for almost two years. It's different and yet having more space...I can't really complain. Having a castle has spoiled me! [ A small chuckle. Ah the castle ever in the back of his mind it is. He misses it and there's a slight faraway tone to his voice as he speaks about it. But at Ginia's next question Helios refocuses. ]Some kodama, a few phoenixes, a griffin, a minotaur and a few other things. I've been spacing them ( ... )
