One of my message boards had a thread about misheard lyrics.  Then, when I was on my way to pick Jason up yesterday, I heard Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" on the radio.  What is up with that song?  I couldn't understand what he was saying.

I decided to write out "my version" and look up the real thing to see how they differ.

Actual lyrics Blair's version
 So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough

Back to the howling old owl in the woods
Hunting the horny back toad
Oh I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road

So goodbye yellow brick road
where the dark clouds decided (decidedly?) to howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plow

Back to the howling dog (?) out in the woods
Hunting the (WTF, I have no idea?!?!)
Oh I find inside my future lies
beyond the yellow brick road.

The dogs of society.  I feel so enlightened now.
