" I didn't know they were vampires"
Ah, Bright Eyes - Devil Town. Turns out, I was a vampire myself - course, I'm not - in case you worry!
I'm in Newcastle, well, it's more Whitley Bay. It's in Holystone. It is rather nice mind. I'd say nicer than the far far far more expensive hotel in London. For one, this TV is decent.
I've left Cardiff now, for the festive period.
Monday I went to this Male Choir thing with my Sister. Basically, the group who sang in the pub a couple of weeks ago did a christmas thing which they've been doing since 1991 at the Rugby and Social club in the area of Cardiff I live - I'll just put this out there - I didn't see any rugby posts.....it was good, but I think she had more fun than me - more her cup of tea, but it seemed to make her happy anyway.
Tuesday saw me pack, and drive. I was planning on ditching it at my parents' house, and driving into Birmingham. But, like always, I started slightly late. Thankfully, my dad can be truly brilliant. I phoned him, and he offered to meet me at a service station, letting me throw my stuff in his car, before heading into Birmingham. I wouldn't have needed to, but I'd arranged to meet Jess for some chilling and dinner - and looking at the fantastic German market. I'd love to show Sarah it one year. It's really pretty and stuff!
I still was a tad late - fucking Birmingham traffic. But she didn't mind. In fact, when I found her the first thing I heard was her telling someone on the phone "yeah, but he's a fucking c**t! Don't cry over him." then waving at me. It was rather amusing.
Went for a drink in Costa, had a wander through the German Market - but didn't buy any food or drink -- way too expensive! Then we decided it was pub/food time. So I suggested the nicest part of the City I could think of, St Pauls' Square. It was weird, because I lived about 5 minutes from there, and I'd love to be back there - not just because it'd be so much easier to get smashed then get home.
Instead, I had a nice drink, mocked Jess' purposefully horrific Christmas jumper, ate a burger, and chatted. The bonus was, my dad - who I'd mentioned was awesome at times - had offered to get the train into Birmingham, and drive me home. I was shocked, but, I think because I don't ask much, he was inclined to be helpful.
Then when I got home I re-packed my stuff, wrapped Sarah's, her Mam's and Chris and Kev's presents. Sarah's is..... stuff. I'm not sure she'll be all that impressed by it, it's quite random - but then, so is she? I need to try and get her Dad something, but I don't know what.... at all....
So, yes. I then drove up here. It wasn't a good drive. I am such an angry driver =/
Checked in, dumped stuff, then met Sar. We went for a posh drink and just had a chat. It was ideal really. I was quite tired. I was quite concerned as she wasn't in the Nerd books section (which is usually where Wild Sar's can be found) but she found me.
When the shops shut we parted ways, where I saw her mam and kev - what a beard that lad is sporting right now! - and then I went to my usual food pub. It wasn't too bad, but after going to the awesome one in Cardiff with Raz and my Sister the other week, it was disappointing.
Anyway, I had a nice evening of cake and hot chocolate.
Tomorrow we're going to the Metro Centre. No doubt it will be hellish, but it will also be funny, and I will have nice company - whether she thinks she is being or not.
I've spent the night playing facebook pool and scrabble with Raz, as he's having some work issues, and needs a vent. It meant I paid £3 for some internet, but actually it's not too expensive.
We've just wrapped it up, so I'm now heading off to bed. Thankfully I don't have to be up too early!
