I need to get my mind off of a frustrating conversation with a distant relative I don't know well. Recording some recent firsts so as to not lose track of them:
-first time seeing Gerald Moon's play Corpse!, which was also my first time at Theatre Arlington, the day before I
saw James Galway (play: predictable but with some good humorous moments, plus a friend was in the cast; set: loved it; venue: seats had no leg room! less than most airplane seats!)
-first time eating at
The Island Spot, which may have also been my first time eating at an authentic (?) Caribbean restaurant while not in the Caribbean, on 11/1/11 (I had jerk chicken, and hope I will force myself to go back for oxtails--the only reason I wouldn't is that it's a bit off my beaten path home from work) (this was also a
Groupon-inspired first)
-first time having catered food delivered to my home, last month (yet again courtesy of Groupon: I got a
deal for Taylored Cuisine to deliver three meals to me; two were only okay, but the third, the Thai fish cake, was awesome)
-first time at Kindred Spirits Massage, to get what I *think* was my first leg scrub, yesterday (Yes! The same day as my first full-body scrub! Yesterday was special.) (The leg scrub/soak/massage was okay, but not so great that I'm inclined to go back since I was thinking of it as a one-time treat anyway--except that I think I WILL try going back just once for a TMJ massage to see if THAT is worth frequenting the place for, since she said she did TMJ massage, and more cheaply/less frequently than my physical therapist earlier this year)
I hope this is all the food firsts I've been meaning to post about. @_@ I know that's all of the Groupon firsts... so far. :P That site is so dangerous but so wonderful for firsts. And as my
earlier post about the Korean spa can attest, sometimes it does inspire seconds and more.
Edit: Nope, forgot that I had a new seasonal ice cream flavor:
Häagen-Dazs Cranberry Pumpkin Spice (I liked it)
