dog stuff

I'm sure that everyone remembers me telling you about the artical that was published here just before shauna's recital about a couple of amstaffs that got loose and killed a cat, right? well, they published another artical a couple days ago and the judge ruled in favor of the dogs!! The dogs had to stay with the local SPCA during the trial and the behaviorist there said that the two dogs are the sweetest dogs, and emotionally ssolid, wouldn't hurt anyone. I guess that the judge did some reading on the breed and realized that it is in the nature of the dog to "critter" hunt and the dogs saw the cat as a critter. So the dogs are free to go home, but the owner faces some heafty fines. A good ending I must say.

Indy has reached the 60lb. milestone. His mites have returned. Our vet said that we will probablyhave some sort of rehiment for him to deal with this for the rest of his life. Right now he has the mites [demodectic mange, really] and a bacterial infection on the inside of his hinde legs. He goes every 10 days for shots for the mites, has pills for the infecdtion, an omega-3 fatty acid supplement to add to his food, special shampoo, and she wants us to add benadryl to the regiment because he most likely hs allergies as well. I had to take him on wed., because he had scratched himself bloody on one shoulder. They gave him a steriod shot that should help relieve the itching for up to 6 weeks, hopefully we'll have it cleard up by then.

Does anyone have any tips in dealing with nervoous/anxious peeing? Indy has been doing thins since we moved into the new house and recently he has also been like, "well, I gotta pee. I'll put a little here so they take me out." We still haven't gotten anywhere near the point of him letting us know he needs togo out. Any thoughts?
