I think we are seeing the end of a once great show. I also can't help but wonder if they are planning a complete change of format if there is a Season 8. Have they decided whether FOX or NBC Universal will pay production costs? Have any of the other cast members signed new contracts?

There's been absolutely no word on what the situation between Fox & NBC is nor about the cast contracts for season 8. There have been persistent rumors plus some statements from Ethan Hawke that RL was leaving the show "soon". A lot of people dismissed the Ethan H interview - now it looks like he really did know what he was talking about.

Yes, the rumors started a while ago. But the Ethan Hawke interview was just couple of weeks ago and it may have taken RSL the last couple of months to find the right play & get all the contracts done.
The show is leaking like a sieve again - the poster at TWoP says there have been some major script leaks & now this seems to have caught TPTB unawares. The hilsons are bombarding GY on twitter right now - I'll be interested to see if/how he or Shore respond.
They have to respond somehow. I´m sure TPTB`s telephones run hot. I have the scripts too, It`s just the first scene/teaser. That is not another mole, it was done on purpose.IMO

I'm happy for Robert, it's a good choice to leave the show. And I hope TPTB will make the other good choice and put an end to the show. It's awful enough already...
