NVC/Fox Negotiations status; House cast & PTB contract situation

From this: http://www.tvline.com/2011/01/house-cast-in-limbo-for-season-8-as-fox-and-studio-try-to-work-new-deal/

“I believe NBC [Universal] wants Fox to take over the cost of production, and Fox doesn’t want to,” Edelstein explained. “Until that’s resolved, they can’t even begin to talk to any of us.”

Bottom line - HL is signed for next season & no one else is.

(If interested, you can see the entire transcript of LE's conference call here http://screenrant.com/house-season-7-lisa-edelstein-cuddy-interview-aco-97912/ - please feel free to discuss here as well).

Also, from Ausiello (I've lost the link, but will add as soon as I can find it again)

David Shore's contract is also up for renewal with NBC at the end of this season.

I think this explains both why NBC yanked Shore off The Rockford Files (number three of three failed pilots) & put him back at House (budget out of control) and he's doing his darnedest to prove he's a worthy investment so his own contract gets renewed or else NBC may bring in a new show runner for next season. What's more, if Fox won't pick up the tab to finance House next year (reportedly $5 million an episode), NBC may move it from Fox to their own network as rumored, or possibly even can the show if the ratings don't improve & they can't get the costs under control.

Thoughts? I think the probability of there being both a new showrunner & House moving to NBC next season just went up substantially.
