January Prompt Collection

Jan 01, 2008 11:51

Last month I tried to collect Christmas prompts, and I have to consider it moderately successful because it actually produced one story ( Keeping Up With the Joneses by darandkerry). So I'm giving it another shot.

In keeping with the spirit of the New Year, this month's theme is BEGINNINGS. Try to come up with as many prompts related to the theme as you can. Think firsts -- first time, first kiss, first date. Think new jobs, new homes, new phases in a relationship. Think turning over a new leaf. Think starting over.

THE RULES:

1. The prompts must be contributed in the comments of this post.
2. The relationship between Jo and Blair does not have to be the primary focus of the story but should factor in somehow (ie. it's okay if they're not mentioned in the prompt).
3. Contributors are in no way obligated to actually write a story. We just hope that one or more of these ideas inspires someone to do so.

THE PROMPTS

At Jo's request, Blair makes a New Year's resolution to stop flirting. Can she stick to it?

On Jo's first day as a cop, Blair is shocked by her own reaction to seeing her in uniform.

What would Jo and Blair's first home (shared by just the two of them) be like?

Jo makes a new friend, and they're really hitting it off until the friend makes it clear he/she doesn't like Blair. (OR: until the friend assumes Jo and Blair are a couple, and they're not.)

Blair takes up a new hobby, much to Jo's surprise (and pleasure).

After a bitter fight and some time apart, Jo and Blair sit down to talk about starting over.

Blair decides to get into better shape and enlists Jo as her personal trainer.

What if Jo never came to Eastland but met Blair some other way?

Jo's New Year's resolution is to quit mooning over someone she can't have and find herself a real girlfriend. How does Blair react?

Blair's first court case as a lawyer makes her reevaluate her goals and desires.
