I guess this would be a Jo/Blair 'prompt'...?
Hi to all the writers out there! We seem to have hit a dry spell for FoL fic, except for Slave2Free's wonderfully epic Beauty Crowds Me over at P&P. I've only been reading this fandom for 6-7 months, but I don't think I've seen this specific scenario.
I was wondering what would have happened if Mrs. G and the gals didn't reopen any store after Edna's Edible's burned down. I mean, by this time, despite gruffness and airs, Jo and Blair would be living with each other (and Nat, Tootie, and Mrs. G) for 4 years, 3 of those by choice, so I'm assuming that Blair and Jo would understand and admit that they are, at least, best friends. What would they do if the home over the store were no longer available? Would they choose to find an apartment together? Would they not, and what would happen? Would they make efforts to remain close? Blair chose to live with them all despite an option at Gamma Gamma, so would she still make a choice to live with them in some fashion? I don't know if you'd want to have the Jo/Blair 'relationship' beginning before the fire or afterwards,
So here it is:
EE's has burned down, not to be reopened, or at least there is no option for the girls to live there together anymore
Jo and Blair are starting their third year at Langley
Natalie has graduated the previous May/June from Eastland
Tootie is in her senior year at Eastland
Jo/Blair!
