In my quest to procrastinate away my time studying for my english final, I stumbled upon a Larry King Live interview with Marlon Brando in 1994, which is really dank. The man is fascinating and funny, though maybe not intentionally. Sadly though, I was constantly being reminded by Larry King that he is a speed-freak who cannot let anybody finish a sentence and has to perpetually tailor the conversation to fit television format which only owes to a short attention. Though this was a famous interview, I felt as I was watching it that Brando didn't get to say all he wanted to and wasn't able to express the genuine emotion and thoughts he was feeling. It fucking pissed me off. I was sitting there fuming at Larry King, who just can't relax, can't let things go, can't let a person bring a thought about naturally. There were probably about 10 to 15 anecdotes Brando was trying to relate that I was genuinely interested in that Larry King cut off to put the conversation in his direction, to talk about the things he wanted to talk about, to say the things he only wants to say. He has this way of taking something someone says right after they say it and reiterating way too quickly before he can grasp the right interpretation of what the person actually said, which results in the guest having to spend more time fixing his mistakes. It was hard to watch, but I like Marlon Brando so much that I couldn't stop.
