when life gives you lemons...
It really is amazing the kind of curve balls life can throw at you. The father of a friend of mine, someone I haven't seen in about two years (or really been close to for even longer than that), passed away this past weekend. He'd had cancer, they found it in December, barely two months ago. Apparently he was responding really well to the chemo, and there was no reason to think he wouldn't make it through. Then he had a heart attack on Saturday.
I went to the wake tonight. And to show you just how odd things work out sometimes, I caught up with my friend, and also with another kid I haven't seen since high school. We hung out for a bit afterwards and will probably get together later on.
