Today is one of these slow days, where you just click on whatever link you see and especially if it is fanfiction, because hey rainbowcrack!, and then you realize that instead of getting flail and sparkles (or, in rare cases, really well written prose) you're getting something like this.

negative feedback on a rape story
I KNOW. I think what happens is that a lot of people just leave in disgust and don't say anything because the author will just say 'well, he LOVES HIM' and not get the point. It's a waste of time. But then there are the morons who think it is hot and rejoice all over it. Then the author is encouraged and writes/posts more and people who like GOOD fic go 'ugh, leaving this pit of bad fic' and they do.
And that's how we get comms like Ohmiya! Full of people who wouldn't know good, 'in character' fics if they came up and slapped them.
Fandom really hates on women sometimes! I dislike a lot of female OCs--but then, I hate the male ones, too. Most of them are self-inserts or Sues. Well written women--especially actual women as this is RPF--are amazing, though. I wish more of fandom would see THAT. There should be more cute fic with Aiba and Becky. Or somebody and Misono. I have a theory about that, too. It's mostly 'they don't want anybody but their favorite but themselves'. Therefore, all women are whores and self-inserts. Plus, all of Arashi is gay. All the time. Any pretty guy in Japan is gay. FOREVER. ♥
But I understand the frustration--is it really so hard for them to write it realistically? Does it change things SO MUCH if it's just rape fantasy? Or rough sex? Half the time, sadly, they don't even think it is rape. I argued with the Spy-Aiba Ohmiya rapist about it, in fact. Look, if OHNO WANTS IT TO END, HATES IT, IS AFRAID THAT IS RAPE. It doesn't matter if he 'loves Nino' or if Nino 'loves him'. If he says 'stop' and Nino doesn't, that's rape.
Oh, man, there I go again. FURY. They don't get that sex (and rape) isn't love. Sex can be part of love but RAPE NEVER IS. I just want to shake them until their tiny heads explode with knowledge. But as long as there is that feedback loop, there will be fics like that. WOE.
I should go back to my LJ and play with Cullen!Arashi.

Also, of course Arashi is gay, for realz, all of them, and they only ever have sex with each other. Preferably at once. With no condoms. Because how else would you get to write mpreg? And who doesn't love mpreg? (Me, that's who.)
