NATURE IS A MIRACLE!!!!!
Before I get to the tomato, here is my gorgeous basil harvest from about a month ago. I made some super delicious marinara sauce with it, which I then canned. Because I am a badass in the home. The plants produce at least this much basil about every two weeks before it starts trying to proliferate. It's not allowed to proliferate because the leaves aren't as big and nice then. So I cut about 2/3 of the plant off every two weeks, and then convince some friend or other that they NEED to make pesto.
Okay, so here is my twisty, witchy, HUGE plant. I had to lash it to the drain pipe to support the shepherd's hook because I was afraid it would break!
And the greatest miracle of all--EENY WEENY BABY TOMATOES!
There are actually more of them now and they are beginning to really look like tomatoes. The biggest one is about the circumference of a dime.
I absolutely think it is a miracle that you can take a seed and some dirt and MAKE this. Or the seed makes it. Whatever. Once the plant started to get really big, I started having to add soil. Jake said, "I guess the plant turns the dirt into more plant. CRAZY! Right? I am super excited for my little tomatoes to ripen. And I will totally shoot the raccoon that leaves tracks by the apartment if he eats any!
