[Background]
Right this way

[Personality]
While playing a big part in the plot of XIII, Serah isn't actively in it for a huge amount of the game time. Still, some things are pretty easy to tell about the younger Farron sister.

One of the big things the game likes to point out are the parallels between Lightning and Serah, little ways in which the two sister's are clearly similar. Losing both parents while they were still fairly young was a hard blow on both girls and it shows in how their personalities developed. They both had to grow up and mature faster than they would have had to do otherwise. Both sisters grew up to be rather stubborn and independent for this very reason as they had no one else to depend on but each other. Though it's not as blatantly in your face as it is with her sister, it's still a very noticeable trait in Serah as well. I feel this can be seen especially well by Serah's first reaction to becoming a l'cie as she doesn't tell her sister right away and in fact pushes Snow away in an attempt to keep him safe. Later she acknowledges that it hadn't been the right thing to do, which shows that she's more than capable of realizing when she's made a mistake.

Serah is someone who is clearly wise beyond her years with a good head on her shoulders. Undoubtedly this is due to the sister's having to fend for themselves from such an early age. It's clear that she still would have been rather intelligent even if her parents had survived as it's stated that she was in fact an A student in high school. An example of this would be when she gave advice to Vanille as the two girls sat on the beach. Serah's advice to "face it later" and to "look at things from a distance" would stay with Vanille for most of the events that took place. This also serves as a great highlight of how Serah genuinely wants to help other people. Giving Vanille advice, dumping Snow to try and save him from herself, and how much she worries about her older sister all how how more often than not Serah is thinking about other people more than she is herself. Not to say that she's perfectly selfless by any means, but she does try her best to be a good person.

Serah's relationship with Lightning is a pretty important one and shows some interesting glimpses into both characters. It's likely due to the loss of their parents while they were younger, but there's a marked difference to the sister's relationship that most sisters, namely an almost maternal edge. It's this maternal edge that frustrates Serah to a certain degree. She feels that Lightning still sees her as that younger sister who needs to be cared for and fussed over when all she wants is to be an adult in her own right. This is a two-edged sword solely because that maternal edge is also exactly why Serah worries about Lightning so much, something that just increases the more her sister starts to bury herself with her work. The booklet for XIII even goes so far as to state that Serah worries just as much about Lightning as Lightning worries about Serah.

Serah's relationship with Snow is also something important to look at, as so much seems to be focused on their feelings for each other. Just how two people so clearly different from each other met and fell in love is something that many people still wonder about. At first, Lightning blames herself for Serah's relationship with Snow. She felt it was her detachment and obsession with her career that drove Serah to find someone who would give her attention more or less. By the end of the game and novels, it's clear that what they have together is truly something special and even Lightning gives her blessing to their marriage plans. It's due to Lightning coming to accept that Snow would be there for Serah and do anything to protect her, that she was confident enough to leave to continue on with things that she felt only she could do leaving her family behind.

The novels really help add insight into Serah's character. In Episode Zero we're shown a rare insight into Serah's rather wicked sense of humor as she finds several ways to tease Snow while present shopping for Lightning. In Episode One, the novel that takes place after the end of the game, it explains that she had been able to see just what was going on during the course of the game. Somehow she'd been able to see it all in her dreams though she's not sure if it was her wish or Snow's that made it happen. She also comes to the conclusion that she wants to become a teacher, so that she can teach the children about all that had happened, so that humanity would never forget the lessons they had learned.

[Other important stuff] Canon states that she's a "good cook, better than Lightning" though really that doesn't necessarily mean much if Lightning's a really horrible cook.

[Sample post]
[First Person]

- Someone comes to you to ask for the time. How would you respond?
I'd tell them the time of course. Why wouldn't I?

- Would you consider yourself a hero or a villain? Why? Neither is an option as well, but still tell why.
Me? I'm not a hero, but from now on I'm going to do my best to help change things and not just watch them happen. I know several heroes though, and they're the best people I know.

- You're asked to take someone out for a date. Do you agree? If so, describe what you would do. If not, tell why.
I'm flattered really, but I've already got someone. Ho old are they? My sister isn't seeing anyone, so maybe they might be her type.

- You have two options: either save your friend who is hanging from a cliff, or chase after the bad guy who put them in a position. If you choose the former, the bad guy will get away and it will be hard to catch him. If you choose the latter, the cliff will crumble and the friend will fall to the spiky rocks below. What do you do and why?

I'd have to help my friend! Maybe the one who did that might get away, but isn't it better to have your friend alive and safe than making someone pay for what they did to them?

- There is a cake in the rain. What do you do?
There's a cake in the rain? That's too bad. I hate to see cake go to waste, but I guess there's no way to help it. I'd be sure to throw it away though, there's no reason to leave it there after all.

- If you could have any super ability, what would it be and why?
If I could have any super ability I want, I'd like to be able to heal people. People are always getting hurt after all, and I'd like to be able to help them. This way if something were to happen to Snow or Lightning, I'd know that I'd be able to save them just like they saved me.

[Third Person]

There was no Fal'Cie here to control the weather, and because of this it could change in the blink of an eye. After a lifetime of living under the influence of Fal'Cie it was still hard to get used to this new, free lifestyle especially when it came to things like rain and the weather. When the first few drops had fallen, Serah hadn't thought much of it but when it suddenly started to pour the implications suddenly became all to clear.

"No! My shirt!" Wrapping her arms around her chest in order to not show the world just what sort of bra she was wearing, she started looking around for somewhere she could wait out the storm. White shirts and the rain just didn't get along very well after all. Spying a coffee shop she'd honestly meant to try out anyway, she ducked inside hurriedly. Glad to be out of the rain, she pulled out her dreamberry and headed for the counter. After the cold rain a hot drink would be perfect after all.

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?]
I've honestly got a couple of reasons:
1. Despite playing a key part in the plot of XIII, Serah herself doesn't get a lot of airtime and I'd really love to try and flesh her character out a little.
2. Honestly? I really like the XIII cast at Somarium and I'd love the chance to get to play with them more outside of places like dear_mun.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Be nice to other players. It's a good rule all together an I think the internet would be a better place if everyone lived by it.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] I've looked into Somarium before, but it was a post made by Kris, Snow's mun, on dear_mun that had me sold on the idea.
[Any questions?] Not at this time, thank you!
