Not really workin' in a Coal Mine, but working 7 day workweeks can get a little intense.
I have certainly worked 7 day workweeks for MANY years.
Teaching for me had always been a FULL TIME passion, which I loved doing so intensely and intensively.
Running my own school for 10 years was an all-consuming lifestyle, where I could have almost unlimited opportunity to CREATE.
I tend to put the same sort of emphasis on my work - no matter where I am working, though. Monday through Friday I work at a job where people spend a good amount of their time pretending to keep busy. I can't do that very well, so I keep busy actually DOING something (redesigned almost every Administrative Form that we use; design flyers - posters - stationery - signage - computer presentations - etc.; compile information sheets; produce monthly calendars; etc.; etc.;etc.)
Now I've added in Saturday and Sunday at the store. It doesn't feel like work at all because I am feeling more creative (as I did while teaching) and I can direct that creativity into something of my own (as when I had my own school.)
I'd much rather be spending more time doing this, rather than endless hours re-creating Official Forms just to correct little formatting errors the original designer overlooked or messed up on - only to have the new forms stack up next to others who have nothing to do but pretend to be busy. Aaaaaarrrrggghhh!!!
Soon, I hope to be phasing over to more of THIS - and LESS of THAT!!
