Pride Day
Today is Gay Pride Day in Seattle.
I don't think I have been so separated from other gay people on a Pride Day since before I came out.
I am working the store today out in Port Townsend. It's a pretty day, and people are coming in the store, but there's something about knowing that there are thousands of gay people congregating in Seattle surrounded by supportive friends and families that makes me want to be there.
But I've also been feeling a bit disconnected from the gay community for a little while now.
Maybe that's all the more reason for feeling like I want to be connected.
I'm conflicted.
But I'm here for the day, so there's nothing I can do about it now.
Just wish everybody who is there, and everybody who is alone but wishing they could be there, a Happy Pride Day!
