Yesterday, Sunday the 23rd, was the Route66 Marathon. The route plan showed them running down our residential street, so all cross-traffic was blocked from turning into it. There were barricades everywhere, including all but one entrance into the Quik Trip/Mazzio's parking lot. My plan was to drive out of my driveway, whip around into the parking lot, then proceed through the other neighborhood streets that weren't blocked. Barricades were blocking that plan. So I started to walk the mile to the GAST Center. Then I recalled that I hadn't taken my meds yet, so turned around and went back home. On the way up the sidewalk, I noticed a gap on the sidewalk between me and the Mazzio's lot. Hmmmm. So, after taking my meds, I drove the car down the driveway, made a sharp left, and squeeked through the gap. I then drove to College Ave, made a left, and then a right onto 12th street. There was a policeman at Delaware, but he waved me through when there were no runners. The rest was a cakewalk. But I'm glad I didn't have to walk home afterward, as two hours of playing drums was exhausting. I ate lunch at 2pm, then had a good hour's nap. Felt so much better afterward.

Am still working on little fairies to sell at Christkindlemarkt the first weekend of December. There is so much detail to be done on them (by hand) that I despair of having them all finished in two weeks. Especially since we will be having family over for Thanksgiving. The house needs major cleaning, so the fairies will just have to wait. Family comes first, it is such a wonderful time, and I get a chance to see them all at once.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving - I'll have you in my thoughts.
