Costuming
I haven't worn a costume in ages, since the larger scifi conventions in our area no longer exist. So when Oktoberfest rolled around, and the folk who hired our band wanted us to dress up, I couldn't resist. Turned out to be one of the easiest costumes I've made. I started with Butterick 3906 pattern, and changed things slightly. I made a longer over-skirt and threw together an apron, added lace instead of ruffles and voila - a dirndl. I got a lot of compliments on it, so guess I'll try for something a little more colorful for Fasching (Fat Tuesday) in March.
