Taking Chances
Tis is going to be a short entry about one thing, chances. I dont mean things like beting, or hoping, I mean taking a chance on a person. Not like taking a chance on loaning a person a dollar and seeing if they will pay you back, I mean real chances.
Two years ago, I was a somphmore with an averaverage GPA(not because i wasnt capable), I didnt care about school, I didnt care about anything except fun and friends. Then General Motors Technical Acadamy(GMTA) came along. This is a program demanding excelence in everything, excelence requires qualifications, qualifications where i probable could have done better. Needless to say, both Mr. Kluesner and Mrs. Aletha Barnes accepted me. Origianly I didnt want to go, and I mean didnt want to go! I never wanted to be a part of GM, nor leave my dear Adams. One day it hit me, actually a person hit me(not literaly), This person showed me that this is a once in a lifetime chance, a chance that can change things forever. Needless to say I accepted.
After being accepted things fell into place. Meeting new people(car people, oh god!!!), learning things people only wish of, and being a select few! I changed my mood around, and now I finaly realize where it all came from, my teachers. Mr. Kluesner and Mrs. Barnes, they are a couple of the most influential people I've ever met. They challange more than ever, they demand more than ever, and and there as tough as a rock. This is what excelence is made of, people like them. Needless to say, Jounier year wasnt easy, but I't was awsome! The ups in that class are like none other.
This all brings me to this year. Ive finaly got it! It took 4yrs to get here but you know what, I wouldnt change a bit of it. I've learned more about everything and thats the best part. Senior year is an interesting year, one day I just want to go to collage, the other day I want to stay here at Adams, but what i think is most important is that I suck up senior year for all its worth! I dont mean skip school, or party, I mean enjoy this time cause it only comes once! Sure there are some people who hate high school, I used to be one, but now I realize that this is a once in a life time deal.
Now you may be asking whats the point of all this bs? My point is this, take chances on people! You may not be able to do this tomorow, but do it at least once. Mr. Kluesner and Mrs. Barnes took a chance on me and not only did it have an impact on me, but hopefully an impact on them too. This is where excelence comes in, I know people like to be lasy, well dont do that all the time. Being busy is an accomplish not many can pull off, it demands time, work, and persistance, but let me tell you, its more rewarding than anyhting else!
So now I leave you with this, demand excellance, work hard, and take a chance on a person! These qualities have alwasy been important to my parents and now i know why. People who have these qualities bring it to the table and inspire others, then they bring it into other parts of there life and hopefully inspire others!
