OMZG, life, why so amazing?

my birthday's later this month, which wasn't a big deal for me (i'm turning 21, but it's not like i plan to go out and get shitfaced from now on) until my dad said he had a week off at the end of the month and offered to take me to Europe. *SQUEEE~!* i've never been out of my hemisphere before. never left the continent before. I AM SUPER-DUPER EXCITE.

we're going to England on the 26th if dad can squeak by that day without getting called for a trip. my mom has to renew her passport and she discovered the rather exorbitant fees they charge for rush jobs, not that i can blame them. it must be a brisk business dealing with people who didn't realize their passports had expired until after booking plane tickets. also, they apparently offer a card that lets you travel to Canada and Mexico without a full passport, like a North American fast-pass, which is irrelevant but i thought it was kinda neat.

now for the viewer-interactive part of the post:
any suggestions on what attractions to go visit in Britain (and possibly France)? my dad and i can more-or-less speak English, French, and Spanish but we only have a few days and the flight is round-trip out of Heathrow gawd i wanna stay forever dangit.
also, does anyone know if a CD purchased in Britain will work in my American CD-players? there's a band i like that would be a bitch to find Stateside and i don't have the patience to order it online.

let's see... what else is interesting...
oh yeah! Romanesco.
that is a vegetable. a fucking awesome vegetable that grows in Italy and it's a damn crime it's not more prevalent here. i mean, who here wouldn't have eaten their broccoli if it came in fractal form!? losers, that's who! that there is the veggie that will pierce the heavens and i'd never heard about it til last week. shame on grocery stores.

oh! I almost forgot! a classmate of mine from high school French is running for state senate!

i don't expect most of you to care because i doubt any of you live in the Gainesville area, and you certainly don't know the guy, but this is one hell of an undertaking for a 21-year-old student. he's a hard-worker and a really nice guy and i'm proud and happy for him and i wish him luck.
you can do it, Will! maybe you'll be the first Floridian president someday! :D

romanesco, vacation, music, classmate
