The world is a strange place. Full of strange events, unfortunate events, hateful events. So many things in this world are not right. Greed, hunger, jealousy, lies, hatred, revenge. Why? Why are people like this? Why can't there be peace? I know that it's unrealistic to think of such things, but calling it unrealistic doesn't tell me WHY it can't be that way. The world is such an unforgiving place. You are held accountable to the highest degrees for everything: religion, money, race, gender, sexual orientation, ideals, political beliefs, hair, style, looks, etc etc etc. Everything is judged, everything "classifies" you as "something" and there seems to be no breaking of the cycle.
Our classifications breed hatred and/or jealous. Hatred and jealous breed lies, revenge, fighting, war, death. Muslims want to bomb the Christians. Christians want to take over and rule the Holy Land. Black hate the whites. Whites want to control the blacks. The ghettos hates the riches, the riches deny the ghettos. The poverty envy the wealthy while the wealthy spit on the poverty.
Someone hates someone, everyone hates something. No one has a fully peaceful heart. Me included. I have animosity in my heart toward three people. I feel "justified" in that animosity, but what is justification? It's just a means to make something "wrong" or "broken" seem okay, acceptable. But is it really? Is it REALLY okay to hate? No, I don't believe so. I don't believe I should hate them no matter what their crimes or their offenses against me. Not to say I must agree. Those people should not have taken such actions against me. But if I hate and I retaliate, then what? What will that do? Breed more hatred, create more animosity? Destroy another life and another's world? Why should we do that?
Lashing out, lashing back, taking reactive actions. Why do we do it? Instinctively? Out of passion? What is the reason we are able to feel and have such hate, dislike, and anger toward things???
I'm not angry at the world. I don't hate the world persey. It just pains me to see THIS! All of it! Instead of pulling together to create something peaceful and beautiful, we are at war pushing each ideal on the others. We fight a war for the freedom of Iraq, the Middle East is just "wrong" - but are they really? Women are treated differently, maybe even "badly" but aren't women treated differently and badly here too? Okay, our women can work and can vote, hell we can even drive and be parts of political conversation and involvement. How many YEARS did it take for us to get here? How hard did our OWN women fight for THEIR OWN rights?? AND - how often did we bomb and blow up the ones who wouldn't listen to us??? We earned our "freedom" by means that seem so much more civil. Why can't we let Iraq be? They have to LEARN and grow on their own terms. Not having some outside point of view coming in and "freeing them" and telling them HOW they must live. God forbid everyone live the Christian way. Then lets take something else into consideration: not all, not even half, of their women are treated THAT way.
Outside Iraq/US war.
Here, in our own country. Whites are at war with the blacks. Black are at war with the Asians. Mexicans hate 'em all too. We are all at war in ONE COUNTRY (YES ONE COUNTRY, ONE PLACE) because our skins are different. We are all in the same country, we are born and raised here. Doesn't that make us brethren? Does that not make us a community, a nation, a society? Doesn't that bring us together? Why are we so divided? Why the anger? Why the animosity.....
How does this all change. From person to person we breed hate. From community to community we create animosity. From nation to nation we spread hatred.
Where does it end?
How do you make it end?
Can you tell me - why do you hate another "group?" Were their crimes so horrible that you must hate them? Did they wrong you so terribly that revenge is your only answer?
Or have you fallen victim to a society? To a community? Have you no direction in life to be able to form your own ideals and see that people are people, no matter who they are?
No one has the right to take the life of another.
No one has the right to decide the fate of a person.
You don't have the right to take away someone's will.
Isn't that the beginning of deleting hatred and animosity?
If others could see that we only have the right to our own feelings, our own beings, and our own lives - would that begin the end of war?
Letting go of our differences, understanding the value of another's life.
Sacrificing one life for the "greater good" - what does that mean? Keep sacrificing a life here and there to continue the wars (not literal wars, but just between people too)?????
When will we open our eyes and see that THIS WORLD IS NOT WHAT WAS INTENDED! We were not created for this purpose.
I want to change the world. In all my life I have been through some shit. I have dealt with more heartbreak and seen painful things than most people double my age. I have bared witness to evils of all kinds.
But here I am today. I am not bitter, I don't have the desire to avenge it, nor do I want to erase it.
I want to change the future, not avenge the past. But I did not go through all this to just be another person, living the "average" comfortable life. I haven't had all these trials to just be, to just exist.
I may not be destined for something great, but I have a purpose and a destiny. Something is coming my way. And whether it affects a small portion of people or a lot. Something is going to happen. I feel it. And when it comes, I will be prepared to offer that change. I will open my heart to whatever my purpose is. And I will accomplish my duty. I have to change something.... This can't be the way of life forever.
Change.....
I want to live in a world where my kids can smile happily with the comfort that the world is a safe place. A safe and peaceful place where death isn't lurking all around us.
Where do I start?
How will I know when the right opportunity arises?
What can I really do????

The Anatomy of Peace
It's a starting point to peace in the world. It doesn't matter who wrote it, where it came from or who endorses it. PEACE IS NEEDED IN THIS WORLD
This book doesn't solve the issue. But maybe it will help others reflect upon themselves and THINK about what THEY can do, themselves, to come up with a solution..... Resolve and change are needed....
The Anatomy of Peace
What if in our conflicts with others there is something we want more than solutions? What if conflicts at home, conflicts at work, and conflicts in the world stem from the same root cause? And what if individually and collectively we systematically misunderstand that cause, and unwittingly perpetuate the very problems we think we are trying to solve? These are among the important questions explored in The Anatomy of Peace.
"People want solutions. But notice that the PREFERRED SOLUTION IN EACH CASE IS THAT OTHERS CHANGE."
