Very good. I think it does it's best work outdoors.
The video is very good, and you can zoom while making video which is something most digi cams can't do. However, while zooming, you can clearly hear the motors going "bzzzzzzzzzzz" when you watch the video. Small price to pay for that option though.

My biggest gripe with the camera is that the zoom speed is VERY slow, it takes a long time to zoom in or out.
I love how quick the camera turns on though, push the button and in less than a second you're ready to shoot, great for snapping quick shots in the car or elsewhere (nevermind how unsafe it is to be fiddling with a digi cam while driving a car!)
And the huge 2.5" LCD is incredible. The viewing angle is far greater than any other digi cam I've seen. Most of the time if you're not looking head on at the LCD, it looks like junk. This one you can be standing on the side and still see a nice picture.

Anyway, I highly recommend this camera, or ANY KODAK for that matter; in terms of ease of use and value, Kodak is much better than Canon or Sony, imo. My girlfriend has a Canon Powershot 300 and it's also very nice, but I like my Kodak much more. :)

Def. try one before you buy at Best Buy or Circuit City or whatever you have out there (Fry's?)...

later.....

Thanks elscorhie! I was thinking about buying this camera or a Sony Cybershot. I really liked the video quality on the Sony. Even the audio was better than what you get on MD. And I saw the commercial that the Kodak V550 shot tv-quality video. Yeah, probably shouldn't be buying a digital camera for video but it seems to come in handy at concerts and what-not.
