OMG AS IF IT CAN'T GET ANY BETTER!
So as if I wasn't already having an AMAZING fucking time, I just found out something that made me almost jump out of my fucking seat. So, I am a general counselor and I am a rock climbing instructor, I am a general counselor before rock climbing instructor and each counselor is assigned to a group of kids. I was assigned to the "Bel Ayre" girls. Now these girls are the oldest of the girls, they are 15-16 and have been coming to camp for a long time, this is what we call their "senior year at camp" So just like any senior class comes....A SENIOR TRIP!!! And guess where the seniors happen to be going this year...CALIFORNIA!!!! Yes my friends, in July, I will be accompanying these fine young ladies on a 10 day excursion to my home state, California, including my hometown of Los Angeles. ALL EXPENSES PAID! All I have to do, is watch the girls and make sure they don't get into any trouble. My hotel is paid for, my food, my everything, ALL paid for. All I use money for is for souvenirs, and well I have the money for that ;-) So I can not wait. I mean, I thought I was getting a fucking awesome deal getting paid to spend time in this beautiful place, but getting paid to fly out to California is just the icing on the cake. Not to mention they pay for my plane ticket. Yeah, I hate that I have to fly more than I have to, but it will be worth it (considering we don't crash) once it is all said and done. The girls will be getting here at about 1 in the afternoon tomorrow. I have been working on individual welcome signs for all of the girls. I am usually not so artsy but I have really tapped into my artsy side today. I have to make 17 signs and I am really going all out, glitter, gel markers, color changing markers, the works! I also made them a camper of the week poster. It says "Mazel Tov, You're The Camper Of The Week" Then beside that is a little popsicle stick girl I made and glued onto the poster. And for whoever gets camper of the week, I will tape the poster over their bed. I know, I am corny, but stuff like this means more than you will know to girls around this age. Anyway, I better go finish these welcome signs and go grab a snack. We had an awesome storm last night, it was so nice just laying there in bed in the old rustic cabin watching the lightning and listening to the rain fall on the tin roof. This is what life is made out of. I feel like I am at one big slumber party. After we got back from Wal-Mart and the bar last night, I went into the other bunk with some other counselors and sat up talking until about 1:30, it was awesome. We went to some local bar around Wurtsboro and had a few drinks. Miguel and I stood around and talked for about an hour and a half and he told me all about Spain, I can't wait to visit. He was such an awesome guy to talk to, he was genuinely interested in what I had to say and I don't get that with a lot of people. OK, seriously, I have to get off this computer. Thanks for those who commented a while ago and a big fuck you to those who didn't ;-) I LOVE YOU GUYS!, Well most of you anyway :-D
EDIT: I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I ALSO GET TO CHAPERONE A THREE DAY TRIP TO TORONTO IN CANADA. IT HAS BEEN MY DREAM TO GO TO CANADA AND LOS ANGELES IN THE SAME SUMMER AND I AM FINALLY FULFILLING THAT DREAM ALL EXPENSE PAID. I LOVE MY LIFE. IT SEEMS LIKE ALL THE BAD STUFF THAT HAPPENED TO ME RECENTLY HAVE PAVED THE WAY FOR THIS AMAZING EXPERIENCE. AND GOD KNOWS IF DEANA HADN'T BROKEN UP WITH ME, I WOULDN'T BE HERE TODAY. AND WHERE IS SHE AND HER GIRLFRIEND? STUCK IN GREENVILLE, AND ANDERSON, ONE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A JOB. I AM TRAVELING THE COUNTRY AND MAKING SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE GETTING TO EXPERIENCE ALL SORTS OF THINGS WHILE THE MOST EXCITING THING FOR THEM WILL PROBABLY BE ATLANTA PRIDE AND GOING TO THE APARTMENT FOR A QUEER AS FOLK MARATHON. I REALLY THINK I DESERVE ALL OF THIS THOUGH, I'VE BEEN THROUGH A LOT RECENTLY AND I THINK OF THIS AS A REWARD FOR HAVING TO PUT UP WITH EVERYTHING I'VE HAD TO PUT UP WITH. I AM JUST SO THANKFUL THAT DEANA BROKE UP WITH ME WHEN SHE DID BECAUSE NOW I'M NOT SITTING AT HOME GETTING FAT WITH NO JOB WORRYING ABOUT MONEY OR WHETHER OR NOT MY GIRLFRIEND REALLY LOVES ME :-)
