I was a little tickled by that 'before the beginning' option, so have a few sentences of baby bird!Will. IDK WHAT I'M DOING BUT I'M HAVING A GOOD TIME

A young child’s face emerges from the brush, all great blue eyes and round, babyish cheeks, crowned with an untidy thatch of brown curls and soft, fawn-colored down feathers. The cherubic effect is somewhat spoiled by the dead rabbit hanging from the little creature’s mouth; his sharp fangs are sunk deep into its mangled haunch.
“Will, baby, there you are,” she sighs in relief. Will lets out a muffled squawk around the rabbit and scampers out into the clearing, making for the protective circle of his mother’s wings. He staggers to a stop at her taloned feet, and she nudges her face against his downy back to keep him from toppling over. "You can't run off like that on me, okay, baby? You have to stay close, you could get hurt," she murmurs into his feathers. Will chirps back at her, but is more focused on tearing into his rabbit than on the fact that he's being scolded.
