*Well, waking up on a bench outside certainly wasn't on the list of things he expected to happen today. Edward sat up abruptly, regretting it instantly as his head spun in response to such a quick movement* Where the he- Central?

What am I doing here? How the hell .... Is that even possible?

Yeah, I'm fine.

I could always be much worse. Hell, I could be dead.

This is true, but...

I'm glad you're at least taking this all right. It seems that most people come here start to panic, and...

I know I did when I first came here.

Well, after the initial shock of ... what I'm doing in Central-

It's not all that big of a deal. At least I'm out of that house.

...Out of what house?

This seems familiar, somehow.

Well, uh...

My brother's ... really protective. So, they didn't want me leaving much until I had the strength to get out on my own, that's all.

.... Familiar, how?

I guess that makes sense, but...

...

A really dear friend of mine mentioned something similar. He was stuck in a house, unable to go out...and someone else there...he lost his brother, so the poor man was used as a replacement, because he couldn't get over the fact that his brother was........................................

*He blinked, trying to follow the woman's train of thought as she spoke* They were using him to replace-? *Golden eyes widened, as he stopped speaking, going completely still before bringing both hands to either side of his head as if to block out something he was hearing* No! I'm not...

*His voice was shaky as he continued, gaze lifting as if just remembering that Alfons was there* Why does this keep happening? I would never...

*And just as quickly, Edward was looking around again, trying to catch his breath and pretend that didn't just happen* ... His brother was what?

*What the--what was wrong with him? She had suddenly mentioned Edward's story and then he...

Alfons looked at him, face creased in growing concern.*

His brother...had died.

...

Are you really all right?

I'm fine *He answered with a nod, smiling slightly* I just... Have been having some strange dreams, I guess.

So this guy lived with someone, who kept him around as a replacement for his dead brother? Why would someone do that?

Having some strange dreams?

...

*Alfons nodded, though traces of disgust were showing plainly on her face at the thought.* Yes. I don't know why they would do that, myself...apparently he was supposed to be a 'copy' of him. But no matter what--you can't copy another person. He's himself. Just as the one they wanted him to 'replace' was his.

The fact that anyone could force someone to be someone that they're not is.....

Yeah, I'm sure it's nothing... *He answered, dismissively*

A copy..? Like a- you mean your friend's a homunculus?

*Alfons blinked now, giving him a strange look. If looks had words, it would be saying, "Yes, so?"*

Um...yes, he is.

Then he was created... He was supposed to be that guy's brother. From what you're saying, he tried to bring him back from the dead...

Your friend- how long have you known him?

gotothestars September 14 2008, 07:23:05 UTC
Yes. Yes, I believe he did...

....

Three months now, or somewhere around there. He's been living with me and my family since he arrived here.

Three months, and without knowing how dangerous they can be? Do you know anything about them?

They turn on their loved ones, after awhile he may not remain loyal to your family... You shouldn't stay with him until he has a chance to try and kill all of you, too.
