Title: Home of the Heart

Author: RaceUlfson
Series: Any, pre story

Word Count: 250
Rating: G
Characters: Risenbool Gang

Summary: Tricia has lots to thankful for. Really.

Warnings: a bit too pat, but I blame the word count.

They would have a full feast, even if Tricia didn’t feel much like cooking these days. She stuffed the turkey, mashed the sweet potatoes, roasted the corn. Pinako and Winry would bring pumpkin pies and they would all sit down and despite the painfully missing faces around the table, they would be a family.

If she didn’t kill her children first.

Ed was going through the Dirt phase and the only way to get him into a tub was to draw an array on the bottom. Tricia was no good with Alchemy but Ed was and she truly did not have time to drop everything and mop the ceiling. But it had to be done, anyway.

Then Al threw a fit because Mom didn’t have time to cut his hair and of course Ed did it for him and Tricia had to spend a good fifteen minutes reassuring a sobbing Al that hair grew back and he did not either look like a startled chicken. But he did, her poor vain baby.

Dinner included tussling over the last roll and near battle over who got the larger slice of pie. Tricia nearly wept when Pinako reminded the children about the wishbone. There was no way either Ed or Al would opt out and let Winry have a side.

Surprisingly, Winry solved the problem by suggesting they all grab on and make the same wish.

“More pie?” Al tried.

“Wish we will all be together forever,” Ed commanded.

The bone snapped.
