He did seem pleased with himself in the manga. I think he could disconnect in that moment from what he was really doing and the fact he was doing it to desperate children. And yeah, everything eventually gets complicated <3

It's a brilliant take on what he might have been thinking on his way to find them the first time. There never really was any real explanation of why Roy went to Risembool, just receiving a letter wouldn't have done it.

I love the simplistic idea for the letter too. It shows the need they have and yet keeps it brief enough to show Ed's disdain for the man he's sending it to.

Very sad - you really bring home how at the core, Roy coming to find Ed and Al was a dangerous gambit. It worked out well, but it could have wound up being horribly exploitative...he was taking advantage of children.

Come home, we need you and she is dead. All of it was finality and all of it sounded of despair, confusion and desperation.

This is so sad, I got teary ;-;

He was taking advantage of their desperation and he told himself it would be for the best, he is just lucky it was. ilu <3
