For most of the afternoon, Connor and I watched Lexi and Tyler while Harry went to find some of his friends. He seemed a little unsure about leaving them, which hey, I understood probably better than anyone. Hell when Connor was first born I wouldn't let my closest friends carry him around the hotel much less let him out of my sight. The kids were sleeping on and off though so once it looked like they were out, he walked off. Of course, they eventually woke up again with all the energy any toddler has and it was good there were two of us since sometimes they had this habit of running away from us.
It was a little surreal taking care of the kids, but I wasn't going to let that get to me. Too much. Connor and I talked, but really didn't get into too much detail about any of those past issues.
The fact that they were both growing and aging so fast was a little.. different. They were barely even a week old and they were already toddlers saying their first words. I wasn't sure if it had something to do with the prophecy involved in all of this, the fact that the drugs had been in Harry's system at the time, or just something supernatural that was completely unreleated. Or actually, maybe all three.
A couple hours passed and it started to get dark. The kids had passed out again on the blanket, both sprawled out on the two of us. Connor had been amazing with the two of them and it made me wonder what it would be like if he ever had children. Well... ones that weren't... nevermind.
Harry's sister walked up to where we were sitting after a while and I decided I should probably give her some space and let her spend time with her niece and nephew. She didn't seem to outwardly hate me like she probably did before, but still it wasn't hard to tell that she was having to work on not going after me with the stake that Harry fucking carved for her. I decided to take a walk, but told Connor I'd be back later and left Nicole and him on the blanket with the sleeping Osborns.
I didn't walk too far when I felt something familiar and turned around to see Faith walking out of the jungle. Standing there still for a moment, I sighed and then started walking towards her. "Hey," I said in the same way we always seem to greet each other. Rescue mission aside, we hadn't really been alone since our meeting on the beach and honestly I wasn't sure what to expect. We'd gotten along for the most part when we were going after Grace and on the way back to the beach until she left with her sister and Kennedy. Guess we'd see what happened now.
