1. Name a band or singer that you can’t believe you used to love when you were young:
.../grits teeth/ Okay, this is gonna be painful.
When I was a preteen and budding teenager, I liked Simple Plan. Oh, the pain. The pain.
2. Name a band or singer that you hated when you were younger but now love:
I always swore I would never like Panic! At the Disco. I still can't stand some of their more overplayed stuff (every time "Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" comes up on shuffle I think I might be able to stand it this time, but nope), but I have two of their albums now and there are quite a few songs that I like. "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage," "That Green Gentlemen (Things Have Changed)," "Do You Know What I'm Seeing," and "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" are probably my favorites.
3. Now name one that truly stands the test of time, whether they still make music today or not:
Fucking Nirvana. End discussion. /biased
4. Name a song that you can’t resist tapping your feet or fingers to whenever you hear it:
Oh god so many. I'm a big foot and finger tapper when I first get ahold of songs, but the instinct fades some once I learn them and they become background music. Ummmmm. Right now? "Basket Case" by Green Day, "Cherub Rock" by Smashing Pumpkins, and "Come Out and Play" by The Offspring.
5. Name an album where you love listening to every single track:
I WILL NAME LOTS BECAUSE I CAN'T CHOOSE. Green Day's American Idiot, Nirvana's Nevermind and to some extent In Utero, Augustana's All the Stars and Boulevards, the FFVII Crisis Core soundtrack, Blue October's Foiled, R.E.M.'s Green, Rise Against's Siren Song Of The Counter Culture and The Sufferer & the Witness, Weezer's blue and green albums. I think those are all the important ones.
6. Band or singer you are so sick of that you wish you would never have to hear them again:
Katy Perry can go die in a fire... okay, well, I don't actually want her dead, but her music can go die in a fire. No offense meant if you like her, but she's very, very much not my thing.
I have also developed a self-righteous hatred of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus because of their inane comments re: Kurt Cobain but I think most of the world shares that with me, at this point...
7. Name a band or singer that your significant other/family loves, but you can’t stand:
My knee jerk reaction to Bob Dylan is aksldhgkldshh TURN IT OFF even though I think he's an amazing lyricist because that's ALL MY MOM EVER LISTENS TO. I also... /cough/ can't stand The Rolling Stones. >> They're a big family favorite.
8. Your favorite cover song:
I'm generally not that into covers. I like remixes okay, but covers always make me long for the original. I do have a cover of Third Eye Blind's "How's It Going to Be" by some band called This Century that I like okay? It's still nothing compared to the original, but it's got a softer sound that's nice sometimes if I'm in the mood for it.
9. Your favorite song or band, right this second:
I've been on a HUGE Nirvana and Green Day kick recently. That's practically all I've been listening to: Nirvana CDs in the car and Green Day on my iPod on the way to class. It's really weird for me to be this focused on a couple of artists--I usually make multiple-artist playlists that I put on my iPod and burn to CD for the car. I've been mixing it up with a little Florence and the Machine occasionally but it's mostly been those two.

Oh god, pick the hardest ones why don't you. The entire second verse:
Spelled out your name and lists the reasons

Don't call me back
I imagine you when I was distant
Not insistent
I followed suit and laid out on my back imagine that
A million hours left to think of you
