I'm sorry if this sounds like a weird question, I'm working on a project for school, and I was wondering if anyone knew how to cite FMA (the anime) in MLA format. Ditto the music. ^^;

As incentive, I give cookies, and a little thing that I did while in class one day. ( My non-artistic attempt at Snowman!Ed )

When I did my history paper on anime and how it portrays certain parts of Japan's history, this is how I cited the series I used:

Barefoot Gen. Directed by Mori Masaki. Original story by Nakazawa Keiji. Image Entertainment, 1999

Grave of the Fireflies. Directed by Isao Takahata. Wea Corp, 2002.

Rurouni Kenshin. Directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi. Original story by Nobuhiro Watsuki. Media Blasters, 2000

I THINK I used MLA, I can't remember. You can get most of the info from Amazon.

Good luck with your paper!

go here and input the info - and it creates MLA citations for you! Should be pretty up-to-date, as well, considering I got the site from my English teacher :)

I love it :) I don't have to try and remember all the MLA formats anymore - which is a good thing, as my memory is horrid ^^

As far as I know, the last time I used an actual anime for a source I cited it as if it was a normal source for MLA. In other words, if it's a anime movie you're citing use the Film MLA format. If it's a anime series, use the TV MLA format.

EX: FILM
Title. Director, Producer, and/or Writer. Distributor, Year.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Conquerer of Shambala. Dir. Seiji Mizushima. BONES/Square Enix, 2005.

EX: TV
"Title of Episode or Segment." Title of Program or Series. Credit (Performer, writer,
etc). Name of Network. Call Letters (if any), City of Local Station (if any).
Broadcast Date.

Hope that helps! ^_^ Good luck with your assignment
