Before I read your application I was going to rate you a cross between Ling and Wrath, but after reading this, you sound more like a combination of Ling and Kimblee, but much more of the first. (I just didn't sense any hyperness throughout this application that would be enough to warrant a Wrath vote.) Let me explain.
"I would make a lousy rival, I'd probably spend more time devising ways to piss them off then actually trying to beat them at whatever my arch-rival thinks we're rivals about" definitely reminds me of Ling and how he is with Edward. It's obvious he has fun annoying the little shrimp. He's also loyal to his family and has a similar eating habit to yours. Ling is also rather indifferent towards issues, in which you seem to be as well. "I'd link all three of us together before cheerfully dragging all three of us through the gate of doom" also reminds me of said character.
Now, although I see you more as Ling than Kimblee, for the sake of making this a more complex and (hopefully) accurate vote, here we go for my reasons for him.
He's rather "I don't care" about issues as well, and has a "a "Whatever" out look on things sometimes so I tend not to pursue difficult things that frustrate me", yet I know you can be more energetic at times so that can relate to his psychotic side. Being more literal, he is also an alchemist who uses explosions, in which you said you would like to have a power that deals with fire. You also said if you had to kill someone, you'd set up bombs in order to lead an unsuspecting victim to their fiery grave. :E
But as I prefer going with a less literal vote and more of a "personality vote", Ling is my verdict. Now go laugh in your puce house at approximently how long it took me to write all this just for you. :D
