Thanks so much for commenting this time around! And with favorite lines, no less - I love it when I get those! I really enjoy that scene between House and Cameron too - in fact, it was one of the first that I wrote, before the rest of the story had really taken shape in my mind.

I meant for House to be more considerate here - I hoped it would be clear that the prospect of imminent death had changed him, although not so much as to make him unrecognizable. Also, I hadn't seen season 6 yet, so any resemblance to post-Mayfield House is entirely coincidental - hope he didn't seem too out of character here.

As far as why there aren't more comments, I think partially it's because I hadn't yet caught on to the trick of posting to communities but linking back to my website, and partly because quite a few folks just won't read deathfic because it's too upsetting. (Others seem to seek it out. I think I've gotten the most thoughtful feedback from those who fall into neither camp.)
