Barcelona vs. Getafe, 4-0

It was a great group effort from the team!

Beautiful game against Getafe today. They beat Barcelona away near the beginning of the season, but this match showed exactly what my favorite team is made of. Thanks to Mascherano, Valdes kept a clean sheet, and if Xavi's chip had been counted - video replays reveal that the defender did not deflect the ball until it had crossed the goal line - we would have had a manita. And just when I had been complaining that Leo Messi was the only forward who ever scored, Alexis Sanchez managed to make two goals, and Pedro, much to everyone's surprise, especially his, scored one off a blind backwards header from a corner kick. Plus our little genius Leo blasted a brilliant shot into the top corner off a beautiful series of one-two passes with Andres Iniesta.

Alexis has never been a man to hide his feelings

Lest all credit be given to the front line, I have to mention that Carles Puyol had an amazing match, running up and down the pitch with as much energy as the injured Dani Alves. Mascherano was a monster as usual, Busquets had great distribution, and Xavi and Iniesta did their tiki-taka thing.

So three more points, and we're only behind by one until Real Madrid plays Atletico Madrid in the derby tomorrow :).

And finally, in the category of "tears in my eyes," the fans paid tribute to #22 Eric Abidal in the 22nd minute of the game. Abi underwent a partial liver transplant today after recovering from the removal of a tumor about a year ago.
