In music business class, it was told to me that as soon as you sign a record contract, you've sold out.
I think people in "rock" sold out far before.
There's something to be said for the "punk rock mentality"
But even that's taken a hit.

You don't need to be part of a scene, have the right tattoo, play the right guitar.
