I felt like I could almost touch and feel Merlin's island world, walk around and see the refugees at the base of the Sky City of Camelot, and even though Camelot itself sounded a lot like a typical first world big city, you've constructed it in a way that automatically makes me think of a Future-scapes inside a Pixar movie or a particularly fantastic episode of Doctor Who. You truly have a magical way with words.
I adore the fact that Arthur turned out to be Merlin's dragon. I had kinda guessed it at first but wasn't sure until Merlin met Kilgarrah and when it was confirmed, it made me love your depiction and development of their relationship that much more. <3
Your Merlin is the stuff of legends even though he is clearly down to earth- his feats of magic and the way his destiny unravels itself like a fairytale makes me wish I could see this story made into a movie or TV series.
It also makes me think you could/should go into novel writing so that I may one day have the joy and honor of reading your books and perhaps one day seeing it on the big screen. I know this is a piece of Merlin fanfiction but I really do think this story can stand on its' own (particularly in a lovely hardcover copy that I would keep by my bedside table- but since it currently isn't so...I will make do with a saved document copy :P)
Thank you so much for writing this wonder and sharing it with us! <3
Thank you so much! I try to keep a vision of what I want a place to look like in my head - if I could decently sketch it out I would, but I really can't xD - and just try to inject it into the story so I'm really pleased it's worked. ^^
Oh my, like Pixar & DW? Wow, thank you so much.
:D I'm glad you had suspicions of who Arthur was. He's Merlin's dragon! :3 I enjoyed that part of their relationship so I'm so pleased you did too.
Hah I don't think I'd be anywhere capable of writing an actual novel. With fanworks, the characters are there and it's a bit like - for me - getting to play with toys and such. I can do that, but the idea of creating everything from scratch... I don't think I could! So much effort and so much thought, I don't think I'd be able to give characters of my own what they deserve. I mean I'd love to one day, but it's something that's a maybe.
But it means so much to me that you said it! Thank you so so so so much!
There's a PDF file up now if you wanted it ^^ The formatting on here isn't as nice as it could be so... yeah.
And you're welcome! Though you shouldn't be thanking me at all - it's me who should be thanking you so much for your amazingly lovely comment. Thank you!
