i love the pbr

friday afternoon, ricky and i headed to rosemont illinois to attend the jack daniels invitational. it was a two day event for the pbr. professional bull riding. it was awesome. we got to our hotel, and it had a sleep number bed. amazing. i set my down as low as it would go, and ricky's side as high as it would go, and ricky was a good 12 inches higher than me. i slept in a pit that night. that night we went to round one. we had awesome seats. we were in folding chairs right next to the chutes. anyways, we saw all my favorite riders: chris shivers, jw hart, ross coleman, jody newberry, justin mcbride, just to name a few. i also saw some riders i wasn't familiar with, and they are now up there on my list. anyways, chris covered, which was awesome, and we got it on film. (covered means he rode for 8 seconds). a bunch of my other guys covered too, but some didnt.i'll be posting the footage soon. i got my picture taken with re-ride, the pbr mascott, but we lost the photos when we changed the batteries in the camera.

anyways....the next day there were two events. an early one, and a late one. we only had tickets for the late show. ricky was awesome and bought tickets for the 2oclock. we had balcony seats across the arena. they turned out to be really great. it was a lot more mellow up there. i don't know if the fans up there were as dedicated, but it was great to get to see it froma couple different views. chris covered again, and so did some others. so after the second round, we drove to schaumburg to the cheesecake factory, which was good. our waiter sucked but...anyways.

the third round was that night. we got to our seats, and they were a little higher up than our first round seats, but still right next to the chute. i liked sitting down there better, there was a lot more energy in the crowd. chris didn't cover, but he still got to go to the short go. thats the last round, where the top 15 riders get another chance to ride another bull, and win more money. chris didn't cover his short go bull, but thats ok, cuz he made it out alive. he was hit in the chest with a horn by his bull. he walked away ok though. the next guy though, got hung up (that means he got caught in his rope) by his foot, and was being throw around like a fucking skip it toy under this bull. i am not exaggerating. luckily, he was wearing a helmet, and he walked away with a smile on his face.

the winner of the night wasn't one of my top guys, but they finished well so thats all i cared about. after the show, a lot of riders came down and signed stuff, i got about 30 guys to sign my day sheet which the paper you keep the scores on. it was nice, EXCEPT that 4 out of my 5 favorite guys didn't come down to sign stuff. and, the rodeo clown flint, he didn't come down either. flint is a great performer though, he keep the crowd entertained during the commercial breaks...because they don't ride bulls during the breaks.

oh yeah, and me and ricky were on national tv this morning...it was pretty cool. they televised everything on oln and nbc. not at all a bad weekend. i can't wait to do it again. yes, i paid 400 dollars for tickets next to the chutes, but if i had to pay 400 a ticket i would.

today ricky and i are just laying around. i'm going to adam's later to work on our nursing project, but then i'm coming home and just laying around all night. tomorrow ricky and i are doing a "the shield" marathon. love that show. we went out today and got kettle chips, hot pockets, cheesy rice and klondike bars for our junk food portion of the marathon. can't wait!
